Round 2 of the very successfully 20 lbs challenge. Challenge runs from now - Sept 1st. I'll be starting July 1st. Who's coming with me??
This is tempting... that would put me somewhere around 220-225 which is getting close to my end goal weight. I'm not sure how feasible it is for me to continue to lose weight at 2.5 lbs per week as I approach my goal. I'm going to have to think about it... Oh screw it. Why not push the envelope? I'm in! Starting weigh in set for Friday 7/1/2011
Welcome aboard, Mr. Thunder, sir! I was trying to think of something for your challenge, since the goal would have been up to me, but I really couldn't sort out anything that I wanted to do by the weird end date. Had you posted it for the first or the end of a month, you might have gotten more response. So yeah... to vague AND too specific. I posted a challenge that was way too specific and complex and I don't think anyone will join it either, but that is life. Not to worry, though. You're here now.
I'm debating about taking a few days off after the end of the current challenge. Just to recover. I'm also planning on taking a 7 day vacation in Aug, so for me this challenge is really going to Sept 7th. Everyone else adjust accordingly to their summer schedule and let's kick some ass together!
Yarr... let's kick some arse! ...I still like the calendar. I'll be running from the 1st to the 1st here.
Opening weigh in: 244.2 lbs Was a little more dehydrated than usual this.morning at weigh in. This should be a pretty challenging start weight. I am second guessing this goal though, thinking it might create more lean mass loss than I'd like trying to hit it. We shall see...
I highly doubt it. You're still a really big guy. No offense obviously . I'm sure you could keep your cals very, very low and burn almost exclusively fat. Muscle loss is a much bigger problem at significantly lower body fats in my opinion. Having said that, you surely wouldn't be making big (if any) strength gains while burning 3-4 lbs of fat a week, but that's a trade off quite a few people would take at the beginning. Especially given that you're already pulling 400lbs.
Count me in! I will weigh and post weight on Wednesdays. As of 06/29/2011: Weekly weight: 182# Weekly delta: N/A Challenge total: 0# I am at ~20% bf now, so 2.5#/week may be a bit aggressive but I will give it a go. Good luck to all!!!
Official Starting Weight: 244.2 lbs You callin' Lenny fat? I appreciate the sentiment and get what you're saying. I took a look at the calendar and we are talking about almost a full 9 weeks here. That would mean something like 2.25 lbs per week would get the job done. I think I'll be looking for 2.5-3 lbs per week ideally, since I tend to see more fat loss and less lean mass sacrificed at that rate. I have seen some gains in strength when I slow my rate of weight loss down to that level. This is definitely doable. Let's get it done!
I'm in! starting weight:204lbs goal weight: 184lbs going to re-eval. my diet and exercise routine. i have aslo ordered a Omron-HBF-306C bodyfat analyzer. my scale takes bodyfat readings, but reading are all over the place. i am also thinking about getting a DEXA scan. it's said to be very accurate in finding out your actual bf%. i'll call this one place today. Let the ass kicking begin!!!!!!!!!!
Sure, I'll play. It was already pretty much my goal, extra motivation never hurts. I'm not sure it's realistic to keep losing 2lbs a week at this point, but hey, you gotta aim high. Starting weight: 190lbs Goal weight: 170lbs
Lol. Thanks. I just put a link in my old challenge to redirect everyone here. haha. My starting weight is kind of higher than it was a week or so ago. I was in the 160s but this morning I was at 172.2 so I'll take that as my starting weight and then my goal by Sept 1 should be 152.2 lbs. Which I think is very possible since I must be holding water or something and should drop 4 or 5 pounds of water pretty quickly.... Lets do it!!!
Starting weight -- 182 pounds Wednesday, 07/06/2011: Weekly weight: 181 pounds Weekly delta: -1 pound Challenge total: -1 pound Not overwhelming, by any means, but at least I dropped some after a holiday weekend.
Weigh in today: 241.8 lbs Weekly change: -2.4 lbs Total change: -2.4 lbs Right on track... although I did cram all the weight loss into the last two days pretty much.
