    Anyone???

The bicep thread got me thinking...

We see alot of "guidance" but who really besides maybe Chris Mason and Swolecat.....has developed their arms to their genetic potential?

Just makes a guy think about what advice is being thrown around before the postee has been there...(me included)

    ok, rant over

I, and most of the people here on JSF, usually preface our advice with a disclaimer if we aren't sure. Further, I'd venture to say that most of the advice given here comes from the experience of the posters - not whims conjured of Internet articles, conjecture, or thin air. That's what gives this place its character - and its credibility. We practice what we preach. The people who post here have been there - or are on the way there and are passing on techniques they believe in because that information has helped them. Also of interest, I'd go so far as to say that those seeking the quintessential definition of a "bodybuilder" quality physique are the minority on JSF.

I think I find your insinuation insulting.

Agreed. I admit I am in the minority on JSF. I'd like to look like a bodybuilder, but not THAT big (I couldn't get that size if I tried though). Swolecat's physique is about where I would like to be one day.

    One day, maybe!

I am touchy lately, I'll give you that.

It came across to me as someone saying that what this collective has - or more to the point, what is hasn't achieved makes the advice of the participants less credible because most of us don't sport the textbook definition of bodybuilder measurements.

If that wasn't what you were saying, eh... my apologies. I'm just telling you what the language of your post conveyed to me. And I have never even clicked on the "arms" thread, so I don't know what they're talking about in there. Perhaps I spoke out of turn.

Because it sounded like you were insinuating that some who give advise probably have skinny arms and/or don't know what they're talking about.

It didn't insult me, but I can see why it would be insulting.

    Group hug? ;)

Well, there some legitimacy to it. People who haven't gotten big, often by choice, may not be as credible or really know what getting big entails. But it doesn't mean they're ignorant or can't give advice on putting on some size.

I know if my arms ever got to 17-18+ inches, I might as well get on a stage because, with my frame, I'd have to be packing some serious total body muscle. I'm pushing 14" and I must have started with nothing larger than 11".

That is correct. I guess that isolation shit has some merit to it.
