Via Ecrvain's journal I just stumbled across this challenge. I read enough to know that anything goes mileage wise, but I'm going to throw some stuff out there and the keepers of the flame can decide what to do with it. Since the start of this challenge on September 19, 2007 I've biked 1049 miles and since I started running again in November I've run 274 miles. Clearly my biking miles skews things, but I do believe that some biking miles are included in your totals. Whatever, feel free to add whatever you feel is appropriate to the totals of this challenge, if anything. For what it's worth, I ran 5.5 miles today and I'll be updating on a contemporaneous basis going forward.
I'm far from the powers to be around here but.......I say lets just add your last 5.5 mile run and then feel free to add any mileage you do from here on out. (Bike or foot) That way it keeps us (me) motivated to keep going. If we added all the prior miles the challenge would be over. Good to have you aboard, Paul! Sorry I didn't let you in on it earlier. Total miles: 599.5
Reading through the previous posts, it looks like bmac's got the consensus right: add the miles from the point you "join" the challenge, not previous miles. Can't make this too easy! That said, I haven't been diligent about adding mine this week. + 3.5 (26th) + 2.0 (28th) + 3.5 (29th) + 5.0 (31st) = 613.5 miles
Since the point of this challenge is continued motivation I'm going to leave out my biking miles as they would up the total too quickly. My twice a week runs won't. Ran 6 miles on Thursday. Total 619.5 miles.
