Over the last 3 days I had carried out a 'grease the groove' push up routine

2nd Aug sets of 5 over the day = 30
    3rd Aug sets of 5 over the day + 1 rep = 31
Today 4th Aug (UK Time) sets of 5 mised in with my cardio with + 2 = 32

    Grand total of 92

As a personal experiment going to carry this out for the next few weeks\months and see how many reps you can get in one day with this method

    52960 + 92 = 53,052

During workout tonight. Not much, but some nonetheless.

    53,190 + 20 = 53,210

You'll be pleasantly surprised with how many you can manage. For me anyway, the limiting factor is time rather than fatigue. Anyone with a reasonable training background should be able to easily crank out 1,000 in a day. It's just a case of finding time to do them :p

    53,210 + 200 = 53,410

Still in sets of 5 interpsed either over the course of the day or during a workout
5th Aug - 40 (mixed up with back workout)
    6th Aug (today) - 45
Total 85 over 2 days and as I hate not rounding off did another 5 while writing this :) so 90

    52,010 + 90 = 52,100

I read Euan note after posting yesterday and was motivated to up my sets.

From 10:00 GMT yesterday I have carried out 22 mini-sets of 5 interpersed throughout the day (yesterday was a rest day)

110 without any effort (not a 1000 but can see it being possible)

Left elbow slightly sore today but that may be partly down to the heavy back session the day before. This weekend I have a chest session and cardio planned so will count up how many reps I can mix up with them along with the occasional 'drop and give me 5' approach and post Monday. Going to carry this out until end of Aug and see what my max is.

    52,100 + 110 = 52,210

Also noticed that I can't count, last two posts of mine had us going backwards - how did that happen?

So recounting puts it back with my recent 200

    53,570 + 200 = 53,770

Over the last 3 days I have managed in loads of small sets (5-9 reps) a grand total of 545

    Results of this eperiment were:
Very time consuming, even though each set never took more than 30 seconds the actual getting in posistion, thinking about it and moving on did cause disruption to my activity at the time, even boiling a kettle!
Quite easy to rack up the numbers, I am fairly strong even though I carry a lot of belly fat but due to ego lifting over the last couple of years struggle with reps of any exercise of 8 reps or more, so was pleased when the 100 totals rolled in.
No soreness in any joints and core does feel stronger with all the plank positions required.
Will I carry on? Maybe maybe not, I am working very hard at the momnet training wise and though the amount of push ups I have done recently have helped they do not feel like they are that much of benefit overall. Will think about it this weekend and see if I will pick up the same experiment Monday perhaps with higher rep range.

    So after that mini-ramble :)

    54,825 + 545 = 55,370
