I purchased Jeremy's book a couple of months ago and consider it to be a "must have" e-book. Anyone who has been at JSF for any time at all knows that Jeremy is a wealth of knowledge.
Honestly, I've read so many of Jeremy's posts and articles around the internet that I didn't pick up any earth shattering new ideas on diet and exercise. It is good to have everything in one location, though.
The real benefit of the book is the inspiration that comes from it. Jeremy truly did change from the inside out. The book is interspersed with "flashbacks" to Jeremy's thoughts and feelings as he went through his transformation. Well worth the read.

Thanks for posting this John.
I have been very aware of Jeremy's posts for some time on here, and always hold them in very high regard. He's thrown some tips out here more than once that I took advantage from, all very worthwhile thoughts and suggestions.
I didn't know he had a new ebook out. I'm going to go check this out now I think.
Thanks again.

I bought the book. So far its pretty good. I'm getting more benefit out of the psychological/spiritual side. The diet/exercise stuff is pretty much stuff I already know.
I do have to say, 40 BUCKS for an Ebook? Thats way too much. I only paid it because I figured John deserved a nice cut since his site has been beneficial for me.

Can't say I've seen many eBooks go for less than $40...?

I look forward to someone who's read both to comment, as my opinion will most certainly be biased. I can say that I partner with Tom and we don't feel our books compete directly because of the focus. Tom's guide is very focused on the technical results - nutrition, cardio, advanced training, etc. It is a great reference manual for losing fat and contains all of the information in one place. My guide, on the other hand, while I do share information about nutrition and training, is much more focused on healthy living and mindset. In other words, my goal is more empowerment - helping people who struggle with sticking to the plan learn how to set a goals linked to a powerful vision to overcome their self-sabotage. It is also my own story that I use to help trigger those turning points so people can learn how to look for breakthroughs and the places they often occur.
It is not going to give you an earth-shattering nutrition program or the best training routine you've ever seen ... although the free guide that comes with it, The Training Encyclopedia, does contain information on stretching, exercises, and something many people do not focus on and should - control drills. It has pre-fabricated workouts ranging from heavy lifting, holistic sets, metabolic supersets, etc. So while that is not in the core guide, it is in the auxiliary material. Become the Journey is about adopting a lifestyle change more than the short-term ability to lose fat fast. I hope that makes sense.
As for the comment above regarding price - I certainly respect the opinion. I hired marketing consultants to help with the e-Book. It was originally priced at $34 and what we found was that people were devaluing the book due to the low price - people actually weren't buying because they felt that the value offered far outweighed the investment, so something must be wrong or not right - they suspected a trick. When we priced it to the $67 point, people felt is was too high, but at $39 the conversion increased substantially - i.e. more people started buying. So while your opinion is important, the public opinion based on our research was the the book is valued more than $34 and less than $67, and $39 appears to be a great price point.
Personally, knowing the hours I put into this, the hours that my partners put into the bonus gifts that are offered, and the fact that for $39 someone can obtain my full story/passion/philosophy when it would cost $150 for a one-hour phone consultation ( coaching), I feel it is a very powerful price - a training session can come and go, but this investment which is less than what many trainers charge for an hour stays with you and continues to offer the advice, support, guides, sample routines, glycemic index charts, smoke points, illustrated stretching, control drills, exercises, you name it, it's there.
The nice thing about free enterprise and capitalism and especially this e-Book set is that (a) you have the right to decide the value is not what it is priced at and not purchase, and (b) if you do purchase and do not gain your investment in value, you can request a full refund. I honor those requests with no questions asked. I've changed the price a few times to find what the market responds to, and so far this price point sells more than the lower price points, including the $29 specials we've run in the past.
In health,
Jeremy Likness

I'm not sure if this is germane, but for what it's worth, Jeremy, I have read Tom's e-book and his book read far too much like a self-help book.
Next time I decide to purchase an e-book, it will definitely be yours. At that point, I will be happy to write a review comparing your e-books.

Yeah, I'm getting a lot out of the book from a psychological & motivational standpoint as well. I really enjoy reading other people's success stories because they always motivate me to do even better. Jeremy's story is a fascinating one.
One of the reasons I think Jeremy's book is so good is because it speaks to so many people. A beginner who has no idea what he or she is doing will love this book because it's very motivational and it explains everything from proper nutrition to cardio & weight training in clear terms without overwhelming the reader. People like you and I will certainly pick up new and useful tidbits along the way; however, at least for me, the most valuable aspect of the book is the energetic and motivating writing. It gets me fired up and makes me want to work out.
While I was reading the book, I turned to my wife and joked that I almost wished that I was still fat. I felt so motivated that I was sure I could lose weight.

I don't have much to add to what Jeremy said (above), except that I very much appreciate your support of the site. Running the web site and these forums is not cheap, and Jeremy is very generous with his affiliate program. I assure you and everyone else who buys the book set that quite a bit of the money goes directly back into this community. I really want to make these forums and my site the best they can be, and the only way to do it is with time and money. Unfortunately I have very little of the former, and am running out of the latter. People like you help keep this place alive and growing, so - again - thanks very much for your support!

I just ordered it. Expect a review as soon as i'm done
Put the money to good use guys.
Update: I just read 108 pages in one sitting. Needless to say, this is great... and very inspirational. I'll refrain from posting anymore in this thread and cluttering it up until i'm down with the book and am able to post a full review. Just wanted to say how much i'm liking it. It's exactly what I needed.

I purchased the book last night at around 6pm I believe. It is now 1:04pm, the next day, and I have read the entire 384 page book. I stopped last night after reading 108 pages to work out and after only reading those first 100 pages the book had already had an effect on my workout. I began to have conversations with what Jeremy would call future legend. The most important thing that I got from this book, aside from Jeremys incredible and inspirational story (that i'm sure will cause me to push harder at every single workout from now on), is how to put yourself in the mindset for a healthy lifestyle, the importance of setting goals and how much a positive attitude really can effect your ENTIRE LIFE. You can find specific information about different types of cardio routines, diets, strength training routines, and all sorts of information, but the stuff you get from this book you will not be able to find anywhere else which is the tools for being healthy mentally After you read this book you may find yourself thinking about your transforming as a never ending lifestyle, I know that is how I view it now although I was slowly going that way before reading the book. I knew that I would always pay attention to my physical and mental well-being, but Jeremys book will really give you the tools to make that possible. Aside from teaching you how to be well mentally, there is tons of information about nutrition (covered just about everything I ever wanted to know about nutrition (THE HARD COLD FACTS, especially the carbs section) and training (sections on deads, squats, pullups, ab workouts, and other things unique to this book such as relating fitness to the chaos theory). To be honest, this book make me realize that i've been focusing way too much on eating exact portions, and very minute, precise things in my diet and training... and that there is a difference between obsession and dedication and finding a balance is really what its all about. Can't stress enough how glad I am I purchased this book and will constantly refer back to it as a healthy lifestyle bible and also for the plethora of very useful links that come with the book. Buy this!!!

That's good enough for me, just ordered mine.
I was already considering buying Jeremy's book, this just sealed the deal for me. The benefits I've gotten from Jeremy's posts alone are more than worth $39, so the way I look at it, I'm happy to be getting an e-book out of the deal. I'm that much happier that it goes towards helping the forums financially. Great to see you as a sponsor Jeremy, can't wait to read the book!

I'm going to pop this question in here, only because A) I can't wait to get the answer, and B) I'm sure that there are some others that may be "technologically challenged"...like myself.
What's an e-book? How is it different than a regular book.
Jeremy, I was really pleasantly surprised when I listened to your message on the site. Not at all what I had expected from the pictures I had seen.

I got mine. I admire Jeremy for reasons other than just those I have seen in our little community. I have read a few books which have changed my life, and will go as far as to say that there were a few that actually saved my life at one point. I suspect that Become The Journey will help me to revisit the person that I sometimes lose touch with. I'm very happy to add Jeremy's work to my collection.

I've had a couple of days to go through some of Jeremy's material, and in short...it's a phenomenal source of information. Jeremy has apparently taken everything that he has personally learned in regards to nutrition, training principles, and personal growth, and squeezed it all into one easy to follow, and easy to research package. You could spend literally months or years trying to dissect all of the information that is available in books and on the internet, and still never be able to understand it in simple terms. Become The Journey breaks it down so that you don't need to be a nutrition expert, or a personal trainer(or even consult with one) to understand what it takes to set and reach your goals. The fact that it is an e-book opens up so many other resources that could never be contained in traditional format. Not only does Jeremy explain in easy to understand detail, the aspects of nutrition and training, but the e-book actually links to additional information and calculation tables on the web. You don't have to go find them.
As somebody who has been preparing over the last several months to become a certified personal trainer myself, I really have to say that, Become The Journey is a one stop resource on the way to changing ones overall health and fitness for the better.
This e-book has turned out to be much more than I had anticipated it would be.

Can someone expand on this ? How does it work ? Do you have to read it on the screen, or is it printable ? Is it emailed to you ?

Once you pay for the e-Book, you then immediately download it to your computer. You can read it on the screen using adobe Acrobat Reader or MS Reader (both are free downloads), or you can print it out and put it into a binder if you like (the book is formatted very nicely and looks great printed).
One of the nice thing about e-books is that they can be updated by the author with new information. Not all authors do this, but with Jeremy's e-Book you get free revisions for life.
