Question How to get started on the exercise on regular basis?...

Without being fat I need to loose quite a few pounds, but I have a hard time STARTING the exercise on a regular basis. I work out for a while, and then... I would really want to become like those who just HAVE to take a walk or a bikeride once a day to feel good. Working shifts, makes it all even harder, but I know it is possible. Can anyone give me some advice/hint/clue on what to do? Since I don't like to jog/run, can anyone tell me if biking will burn the same amount of calories in the same time as running will? (At a "moderate" pase pumping my hart.)
Thanks, Xray

There's always a way to do it. Most of all, results help you want to improve. But you have to enjoy yourself while you exercise. You could go biking, listen to music, run on a treadmill while watching the news- the key is to do something that you know you'll stick with. For me, the hard part was stopping at the gym every day after work, so I slowly built a home gym. Now I don't have the excuse that I need to get home before 7 or 8.

AFAIK, biking is less strenuous than running, but it all depends on how you do it. Biking up a steep hill is probably equivalent to jogging around the block once. Whatever you do decide to do, it's up to you how hard or easy to make it.

I'm no expert, but I believe that biking will not burn as much as running. Running is actually a full body workout, so you wouldn't benefit as much by just doing a bike. However a bike workout is still good, better than nothing.

I think that's right anyway.
