Hate cottage cheese? come here!
Alright this is a classic recipe my mom used to make for me. It's so easy, even I can do it!! WHOA OMG THATS EASY.
I used to hate cottage cheese but now I love it,and this is an easy way to get your tolerance to it up so that you can just eat it plain out of the carton...
Get a full cantaloupe.
Get as much (or as little) Cottage cheese as you want.
Cut the cantaloupe in half, right through the center where the seeds are. Spoon out the seeds and the film that seperates the Seeds and the cantaloupe. There should be a little pit where the seeds were. Fill the pit with cantaloupe (should be 1-2 table spoons) and then eat it. You can take a HUGe scoop of cantaloupe and a small bit of cottage cheese, but eventually you will get all of the cottage cheese down... and man it's good. You can fill the center with more cottage cheese as the hole gets bigger, or you can just finish off the cantaloupe.
I think you could switch the cantaloupe for water melon, or pretty much anything else with a center, but I think the cantaloupe and Cottage cheese makes a good combination.
Also, if any of this is confusing I will try and elaborate on it if you tell me what's confusing.
EDIT: Just looked at nutrients for Cantaloupe because I didn't want to recommend a fruit that had 349348934 calories and 90% Saturated Fat (dunno if that's possible...) and Cantaloupe has 54 calories per cup and lotta vitamins, so there's probably 2-3 cups per full cantaloupe, so you're not going to totally blow the reason you were eating cottage cheese in the first place.

I know nutrition is important but why go through life choking down foods that don't tase good and you don't like. I have seen many threads regarding foods that people force down on a daily basis even though they don't like them. Does everyone have a timeline for when they plan to stop eating those foods? For me I don't see this being a three month program that I will force down foods for three months and then go back to something else. I have to incorporate what I eat on a daily basis into my overall eating habits for good. I'm sure substitutions can be found that are much better tasting even if you have to give up a little on the numbers. I can't imagine trying to continue on with my change in eating habits knowing I had to choke down things I don't like forever. Any thoughts from anyone? Perhaps it's like some other things that by eating it a lot you will just grow to like it or accept it as part of the daily routing.

I agree 100%. Everything I eat, I LOVE! It's almost unfair that I get to enjoy my food so much on a cutting diet, you'd think you'd have to eat food you don't like. I guess it's more of the fact that I sacrifice all "junk food" for the most part.
Anyway, I usually buy cottage cheese already mixed with apples & cinnamon and it is amazing! Yes, it's higher in sugar and carbs, but I tried regular cottage cheese the other week so it'd be "healthier" and I damn near threw up. That was the last time I'll try that.

I must be the only person here who LOVES cottage cheese - I eat about 4-5 tubs of it each day (250g tubs) and i look forward to the creamy taste more than sliced chicken breasts or anything else.
Just eat it plain - delicious

I love cottage cheese too! But I stick with the Light n' Lively 4 ounce tubs. Far lighter and creamier than full-strength cottage cheese, and they are the perfect size for my morning snack. Great source of protein!
Sometimes I crank a little pepper on it if I want to spice it up. I've also had good success with Texas Pete Hot Sauce.
Seasoning is the key to happy eating, I tells ya! ;-)

I love plain, full-fat cottage cheese too! Reminds me of when I used to eat it when I was in kindergarten. I can't stand the low-fat stuff; it's so runny!
Just 2 months ago I used to eat McDonald's and Taco Bell two or three times a week, but since I've started this "diet" I have no cravings for them at all. Honestly, the thought of eating a Quarter Pounder "value" meal makes me sick to my stomach.
A good read for those eating healthy is a book titled, Fast Food Nation. There's a lot more to the fast food world than they would like you to know.

I, too, love cottage cheese! Not all of its varieties taste up to my taste bud's liking, but some do (I find Lidl one particularly smooooth!!!). And when they don't, I have developed a very special recipe which is packed with protein, "good" fat and fiber, that you may wish to try:
1 or 1/2 tubs of cottage cheese (even Asda Smartprice would do)
20g Hi Bran cereals (Tesco or Asda)
2 Tsp (25g) crushed Flax seed
..and the secret ingredient...
40g Whey protein!!! Cherry or Strawberry flavour
Mix everything well, prolly add little milk or water, and enjoy!
Cheers,
Stan

cottage cheese is great! I can understand how some people might not like it, I used to hate it...when I was eating it plain straight up. I actually enjoy it that way now as well, but it is best if you add some peaches or pineapple...just make sure if you buy the canned fruit to add that you get it "in water" and not "in syrup" in order to keep the sugar to a minimum.
Cottage Cheese is like the utility tool of helathy food, you can add sweet or spicy or whatever to it to flavor it and make it enjoyable.

Oh, this is my favorite!
1/2 no-fat cottage cheese (disgusting!)
1 container of fat-free yogurt (the premixed kind - yoplait is good)
a moderate serving of matching berries
just mix it all up!
Works great with Blueberry yogurt and fresh blueberries, and also delicious with starwberry yogurt and fresh strawberries.
I eat this as one of my meals almost every day, and it's great.
Otherwise, cottage cheese alone, I wouldn't eat on a dare.
