Man Boobs / Puffy Nipples help thread!
I noticed that a few of us seem to have this problem so I figured I'd start a thread to discuss ways to get rid of the problem without surgery and give each other support, as I know it's an embarrasing condition.
I have done well in shaping my chest alittle bit with lots of different angled chest excersises. But in general my push right now is to reduce my bf% and hopefully they will go away or at least flatten out
My goal is to be able to wear a nice fitted white tshirt by summer without worrying about how weird my chest looks - so on that note, off to and HIIT

It works the same way as getting abs- diet and exercise. I started just over a month ago and my chest looks much better- I was like a AA cup, and when I flexed my chest I still had loose skin flopping around. Now I have a little fat still under the nipple, and I can pinch a tiny bit on my chest, but otherwise I look much better!

MahDim do you think your chest will ever get to be the same caliber as John or say Brad Pitt?
I'm having the same problem too...but this one kid at my highschool had the biggest boobs ever, they were seriously a C cup. (not exaggerating, once we measured and he started crying)

I have had bigger boobs since end of middle school and its a reason i started training in jan 02. However now they seem smaller b/c my shoulders, arms and upper chest gained some mass.
Take a look
Btw, first post...nice to meet you all.

I sorta have the same problem, but once the fat is gone everything should tighten back up. I have always had big nipples or the round part that the nipple is the center of. Of course, since I had gained a lot of weight it's gotten bigger which always happens when more fat is forced into that area. I can't wait til I get back into the shape I was when I was in my late teens/early 20's.

Hi .. thought I'd jump in on this subject. The condition is called Gynecomastia and apparently effects 1 in 3 men at some point in their life. When I was in my earlier teens I had the whole puffy nipple thing and it use to really bother me. My family doctor told me it was something that would probably go away as I got old. It never did . In fact, as I grew older, I also started to get fatty tissue around the chest, or saggy men breasts as I liked to call them
From everything I've read and the surgeons I've spoken too, excercise will not get rid of it. Obvioulsy losing weight can help (for those carrying around extra weight too), but the only way to compelety get rid of it is surgery. About 18 months ago, after years of being embarassed to take my t-shirt off I decided to have surgery. I had excision with liposuction. Which is basically, lipo to get rid of the fat on the chest area and excision where they cut out the fibreous tissue/gland behind the nipple (which causes it to puff out). The results were amazing! and you can not even see any scars.
I know not ever one can afford surgery (it was years before I could), but I would highly recommend it, if its something that really bothers you. I wish I'd done it 10 years ago. Anyway, hope the above helps.

i'm sure cliveys advice is good but remember that may not be what you have for most people reducing your body fat and exercise will solve your problems. I know i'm getting what i consider boy boobs, but i can feel that it's mostly due to fat and when i look at my whole upper body, i'm just big around there, big chest, big bones, big shoulders.
Of cause after you've reduced your BF and still think they're not right, then you should consider othert options. But for most people, do the obveous first and try put surgery out of your mind for now

I cannot believe that the means to fixing this problem is surgery, how depressing
How much is it typically?

This is a good site: http://www.gynecomastia.org/
The forums are a good source of info. As for the price, I heard anywhere from 2K to 5K depending on your location. YIKES!
Thx for the welcome Jingo!

good to hear, thanks. I think that might be my problem....(I hope)
Is there a way to tell, ie. between fat and gyno? or does it feel the same?
thanks for the advice / support everyone - together if we stand together, we can rid the world of GYNO....lol

I have no doubt I have the ability to get good muscle gains on my chest- I don't have a sunken chest, which seems to limit growth there, in my experience (2 of my friends have this and can't build chest muscle to save their lives).
The key, to me, is fat loss. Lose the fat and lose the boobs, unless you have a medical condition

Question about chest excersising...
I work it out once per week, with 4 pyramid sets of bench, 3 sets of db flies, and pushups to failure almost everyday. I want that nice flat cut chest look, and I currently have that flab there which I am trying to burn off.. am I going about this the right way? Should I do more chest work? (I'm worried about doing more b/c I don't want to have it stick out any more)
Thanks

You should be fine working it out once or twice a week. Just mix up your exercises and you'll gain muscle there. As long as you aren't sore between sessions, it should be ok. One of my favorites is the "Bent-Arm Dumbbell Pullover", which you can find at bodybuilding.com. It's an isolation exercise, so the chest gets a more thorough workout.

I also had this. During the summer of my senior year of high school, I had the operation done and was very pleased with the results. I was always unhappy with how I looked prior to the surgery, but I had always thought it was just excess fat. Also, as far as I know, I don't think we have to worry about it coming back. At least, my doctor never said anything about recurrence and I have noticed no significant change in the past 4 years (cept my pecs are getting rock hard now due to my new workout program). I always wondered how common of an ailment this was.
