Default What do you use to calculate calories?

Like many here, I'm just starting to change my diet. I have a question. So many people have posted about diets with X# of calories, Xgrams of protein, etc...

Where do you get this sort of complete nutritional information? Is there a reference book or website you would recommend? Ideally I'd like something that strikes a good balance between being comprehensive and simple to use and understand.

Honestly, all this talk about grams of this and that is a bit daunting. Do I have to buy a little scale and measure out each meal? That seems a bit absurd to me, but I'll do what I have to. Any thoughts?
