12 lbs in less than a week?
Hi All, Name's Joaquin, I'm new to the forum. I just weighed myself (after my 5th meal (out of 6)) and I weighed 224. I didn't know what was up considering 6 days ago I was 236. Was this 12 pounds of water or what?
Background Info: I've been eating ~2000 Cals (but according to fitday.com I burn 4k a day...?) Been eating lots and lots of protein, drinking lots of water just like Mr. Stone says to, and I went from Benching 60 lbs to 80 lbs in this same time period (6 days)...
Something funny going on?

Hi Joaquin
Its hard to say but the majority of it was probably water. Also you may be experiencing what happened to me. When I was overweight and began my program my body responded really well for the first month and then my progress slowed to where I was consistently losing a small healthy amount per week.
Also you want to make sure your not losing muscle. By using your bodyfat% calculate your lean body mass and make sure its not reducing signifigantly. If it is then you know to up the calories.
And increasing your bench by 20lbs in 1 week is good progress but not unusual. As you get stronger your improvements will probably get smaller and more consistent.
I've probably told you what you already know but I hope it helps.
Cheers
Marcus

Did you weigh yourself at the same time both times? I'm typically 4-5 lbs lighter in the evening than in the morning.

Yeah. I have no idea why. Maybe because I do it after my workout? Dunno. I haven't done it scientifically or put much thought into it, but I do weigh less in the afternoon/evening than in the morning. (based on checking once or twice in the past week)
regardless. To be accurate, you should do it around the same time every day. Even if my body is strange, it matters what time you do it.

i get some very mixed results too, try taking your weight after 3 days when you want an accurate idea, or just take it every day or every other and watch the trend rather than the specific weights each time.
Don't forget something as simple as a good toilet session can make you several pounds lighter!
