In my opinion, yes, you could live a long and healthy life. If you are really only 16% BF, excercising regularily and eating a healthy diet, I don't see a problem with your size. My dad is a big guy like you. He has a lot of muscle and is just a big guy overall.... always has been. He sounds like his build is very similiar to yours. He told me that his doctor told him he is in excellent condition other than the fact that he smokes.

I agree ... if you truly are 16% and are exercising and eating healthy then there is no issue. Heck, I'm considered obese by the BMI charts and I would have to argue that. Do you have pictures? Sometimes overweight people feel they are a lower bodyfat percentage than they really are. It's not their fault, it's just that sometimes those are in error. At 6'4" and with your size, you very well could be, but a picture would help clear it up!

Some people are just naturally big. You can have a very balanced diet, cardio, and weight training and still be perfectly healthy. Two things to watch are blood pressure and cholesterol. If everything is normal, then live life.

If you really are only 16% BF, you probably are ok, although they say that even at low BF people would generally be better with BMI < 25.

6'4" at 288 puts you at BMI 35, which is "Obese" in their usual definition. If I were you, I would try to cut some weight, just to see if I feel stronger/faster/better.
