Default Dumbells

So I was just wondering currently I have an Olympic weight set bench and squat rack, I don't have any dumbbells I was wondering if I could buy the short bars and put the weights on the dumbbell bars? Or are the hex/bow flex dumbbells more efficient?

Nothing stopping you buying dumbbell handles. Just make sure they're the size to match your plate. In other words Olympic handles.

Some people find it a hassle to change plates but personally I don't see a problem.
