i got to switch the order of some of my exercises
going to try pullups after flat bench tonight ... i am excited to see how much of a sissy i am.
but i have to say .. pullups with 215 pounds of body weight will not be easy. (at least i am hoping the scale says 215 pounds -- and i wore sneakers today instead of my hiking boots -- finally dried out enough to wear them .. so that is 3-4 pounds less weight than usual)

So, you're saying the body recognized that you mixed up its routine and it rebelled?
I did that light headed thing a several leg workouts ago... sucks! I started carrying a snack in the car for stuff like that. Always had almonds, but something with carbs... protein bars and bananas are my carb snacks of choice for this scenario.

Try some quick carbs... if that doesn't help, then you're probably right If it does help... keep carrying snacks

Have you cut back on your carbs a lot recently ?as that can cause that especially if your body isnt used to functioning with lower carbs can cause dizzyness/light headed feeling.
just be extra careful to train with good safetys or someone else to spot if you can .

i also like what Mastover recommends which is mixing a Whey / Apple juice and sipping that throughout the workout , especially as frucose in apple juice will quickly replace the liver glycogen. i never tried it myself as i always train totally fasted but the science behind it makes sense.

You don't eat for 3 hours before you go bust your honkus in the gym? No wonder... You're going to think food is the new strength/feel good miracle drug. Definitely get some food in much closer to working out. I try to get some good protein and carbs about an hour or so before (so I like your idea of protein shake 30 min before)... I also try to get protein in after so my body has some quick building blocks for all the destruction I caused I see several people doing what user suggested - sipping through the workout.
Fuel, man... fuel!

I try to eat every 3 to 4 hours - I mean, not Thanksgiving feasts, but a couple hundred calories of something or a protein shake. Since I've started doing that, my body seems to be much more efficient at burning food since my stomach will growl and let me know I'm late for a meal (and when I stick to that plan, I tend to lose weight).

3 hours is nothing !! ive trained after eating nothing for periods of 16 hours and had loads of energy and set new personal bests!! many people who intermitent fast will train on empty stomachs just sipping a BCAA drink . Its a lot to do with what your body is used to .

in that case its probably just cause your a bit run down as you mentioned . sleep a bit more if you can .your body will adjust to the decreased calories, give it a bit of time.
