JSF unusable on iPad?

I mostly browse this forum on my iPad, and I've noticed that every time I make a new post, Safari will crash in the middle of me typing it, causing me to lose everything I wrote. It's rare that I can finish an entire post and submit it before the entire browser crashes.

As a result, I can use my iPad for browsing and reading posts, but it is unusable to actually write a post/reply and I need to wait until I have access to a desktop before doing so.

I'm not sure if you get enough traffic from iPads to make this issue worth looking into, but just thought I would share in hopes that there was something that could be done about it.

Download tapatalk forum app. Works great with these forums. Also for iPhone.

Hmmm I'm a little skeptical due to the cost of it, but if it's good it would be worth the money.

Do you use the regular app? Or the HD one?
It seems weird that there is an HD version AND a Universal app. Shouldn't the universal one work on iPad AND iPhone?

However if I get the HD one I'd need to ALSO buy the standard universal app if I wanted it on my iPhone....

I don't own an iPad, so I can't personally look into this, unfortunately.

I can tell you that I've not had any reported issues to vbulletin forums and Safari on the iPad until now. On the other hand, I have heard a number of general gripes that Safari on the iPad is very unstable.

Any other iPad users care to comment?

I occasionally can post successfully on JSF from my iPad, but 90% of my attempts fail with Safari crashing. I've noticed that if I attempt to post in a particular thread and safari crashes, repeated attempts will always crash. However, some threads give me no issues.

Being a Pollyanna isn't typically in my nature but I've had mine since August 2010 and I've never had a problem accessing or posting to JSF.

Hmmmm.... Interesting. I'm assuming you are on an iPad 1? Which version of the OS are you running?

I have had no problems with tapatalk. It works with several forums extremely well.

Like everything Apple, things work far better on an App then on a mobile version of a site through safari.

Yes, the 1. I did the big upgrade to 5. I'll have to look at it tonight to check which version it's running now.

I've had it Safari crash for me while trying to post using an iPad 2, too. It has the latest OS, I believe, since I got iPad just a few weeks ago.

Most of the time that I try to post from my iPad2, it crashes. I have tapatalk but I find it to be pretty limiting in terms of user interface.

Yeah I caved in and bought Tapatalk. It's nice, and having the option of posting here from my iPad is handy, but yeah the UI leaves a little to be desired. Hopefully it improves a bit in time. Also the ability to use different skins on it would be cool.

But in the meantime this will work. Thanks!

I updated as well. Hopefully this forum will work now! I still often prefer viewing the forums in safari rather than Tapatalk. It looks nicer and is organized better in my opinion...
