Default Custom food not showing correctly in food logs

Hi,

I've added a custom food, oats. I specified it to have 55g of carbs per 100g of product. Now when I add 100g of oats to my food log it shows up as having 44g of carbs. Fat, Protein and Cals all show up correctly.

Bug/Feature/Something I'm doing incorrectly ?

(If I take a look at the food by clicking on it, specify 'Quantity' to 100 grams, it lists the amount of carbs correctly in the nutrition facts sheet.)

Edit: This seems to be true for alot of the other foods in my food log too (all custom foods). Viewing the food shows you the correct carb amount, add it to the food log and carb amount is off.

Hi There,

The measurement is just a description, if you chose "100 grams" and you (as an example) want to put on 50 grams in your food logs, enter .5 as the quantity. It will the multiply the proper gram amount for protein, carbs, fat, etc by that amount.

Hope that makes sense.

When I added my custom foods, I put '100' in the 'serving size:' box and then chose grams as weight unit. After that I added the nutritional values for the specific food. Should I not mess with the serving size perhaps ?

In whatever way I think of this I still think there is a logic problem of sorts, or that I'm not using this as intended. As I said before, 100g of food 'x' in food log does not show up as containing the same amount of carbs as 100g of food 'x' when you are viewing the food (All other nutrients for food 'x' show up as the same in both the food log and when viewing the food).

I do see what you're saying. Say you put the following:

Serving Size: 100
Weight: grams

Calories: 100
Fat: 100g
Carb: 100g
Prot: 100g

As an example. This is PER 100 grams, same as saying it contains that number of macro nutrients per package, patty, burger, bun, whatever... When you click to view the food it should say 1 x 100g. If you change the quantity to 2 for example, calories will be 200, fat 200g, and so fourth.

Does that make sense?

Default I think i'm seeing something similar

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I think I'm seeing something similar.

I was adding a beverage to my custom foods, and entered the following information:

Serving Size: 8
System: fl oz (first one in the list, I don't know if this matters.)
Calories: 120
Sodium: 10
Carbohydrate: 29
Sugar: 27
Protein: 1

Click 'Save Food'.

If I click the name under custom foods, I see the pie chart, with the Nutrition facts on the side. It shows up with 1 fl oz under Qty with the facts as N/A. If I change it to 8 fl oz and hit refresh, it shows the number I entered divided by 8. If i change it to 64 oz, and click refresh, it shows the numbers I entered.

If I go back to edit the item, my original numbers entered have been replaced the numbers divided by 8, so 120 becomes 15, 10 becomes 1.3, etc.

Does BodyShop do conversions behind the scenes that I need to take into account?

The whole issue I've been reporting actually turns out to be that fibre is not counted towards the total carb amount for a food.
