Hello all,

I just wanted to say thanks for all the great advice I've gotten from this site. It's helped me lose about 50lbs over the past year.

I'll give my story.

In 12th grade I was ~180-185lbs. I went to an art school and never did any exercise or sports.

Age: 18
Year: 2004
Height: 6'
Weight: ~180-185lbs

Fast forward a few years and I had ballooned up pretty bad.

Age: 20
Year: December 2006
Weight: ~240-250lbs (I'm guessing)

I was pretty huge, so I started watching what I ate a tiny bit. I let it go for a year or two more. In March 2009 I got a physical and I weighed in at 235lbs and decided to ACTUALLY do something about it.

I really started watching what I was eating (Got a lot of advice from these boards). I started eatingbetween 1200-1500 calories a day. (I now know this is low). I would eat 5-6 times a day, breakfast, 9:30am, lunch(12), 2:30, dinner(usually 6pm) and sometimes a desert. I also started using a treadmill for about 30 minutes every other day. Around the same time I got a 40lb dumb bell set and did some very light lifting. In about 3 months I got down to 200lbs. After this I kinda stopped for a little bit but maintained my weight pretty well.

In January we started a Biggest Loser contest at work. I had gotten back up to 210lbs. I just went back to my original diet, but increased calories to about 1800-2000 a day. I didn't exercise much during Jan-March. I finally got a gym membership at the beginning of March. I've been going to the gym every Mon, Wed, and Fri morning at 5:30am. As of this morning I am 185lbs.

Age: 24
Year: January 2010
Weight: 210lbs

Age:
Year: March 2010
Weight: 187lbs

I just started the Stronglifts 5x5 program and hope to gain strength now. Hopefully I'll keep this updated to show even more progress.

Welcome to the site, man. That's a terrific job!
Why don't you start a journal down in the Journal's Forum? It'll help with accountability and offer people a glimpse of your continued progress.
