Life:
I had an upper GI on Friday which turned out negative, I don't have an ulcer just acid reflux. While the Dr had me flopping around on the table in bizarre positions and was slamming the x-ray machine into me, my hip popped out and I was in massive pain over the weekend. Today is the first day I've been able to walk without looking like I have a stick up my ass.

Saturday and Sunday I was the model for a Rolfing class my friend Til taught which focused on scoliosis. I got to be videoed while Til worked on me and taught the students various techniques. Til's work really helped my back but it was painful getting on and off of the table.

I joined the gym this morning and I really like it. Tons of equipment and it's really clean. And I haven't seen any steroid users like at Ballys. Mostly just very in shape people and a few who are working to get into shape.
Oh damn, that is a bummer about the hip, K3.

Apparently while I was sprawled in weird positions on the hard table with the x-ray machine pressing against my pelvis, and it strained the proprioeceptors in my right hip. I've had this happen from working out or sleeping wrong.

Sounds like Mac is starting this year off on a good foot with school and it's great to hear she is beginning to formulate what she wants to do next. I second the community college route...don't know too many people who did that and took it seriously that regretted it...well at least their PARENTS didn't regret it...and the savings that came along with it!!
Mac's starting to realize that she's about to embark into the real world and needs to prepare for it. Community College will give her a chance to mature before she goes to a University. And it will be sooo much easier on my wallet.

Still getting interest from potential clients and investors. No $$ yet.

Good luck with your new gym; it sounds like it's a well run and equipped place.
I've worked out there for a week and I really like it.

Thanks Rogo. It took the better part of a week to heal.

Life:
My workouts are continuing to improve. My weights continue to increase and my wrist is feeling better and better. My diet still sucks and I need to get this back under control. Part of it is due to the reflux which gets better when i eat. I'm trying to be consistent with taking the medicine which is hard since I have to take it before every meal.

We have a new addition to our family. We were going to wait a several months before looking but i found puppies that were available now, otherwise we would have to wait until Christmas. I was getting pretty depressed walking into the house with no dog greeting us at the door (Cricket pretty much waits on the couch for us to come in). So please welcome Woody, our Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.

I told Beth Ferguson was a better name, but she and Mac liked Woody better and thought Fergy as a nickname sounded to girlie. Today, some woman in Beth's knit store came up and asked if she could touch my Woody. I said only if your hands are clean.

Busy busy busy. Trying to get work done, watching the puppy, finding where the puppy snuck away and made a mess, cleaning up the mess, feeding the puppy, taking the puppy outside....and I am totally not complaining. I also am interviewing tomorrow for a 4 week gig that will bring in some revenue whilst the startups continue. Life's good at the moment. And my workouts are going great. For whatever reason my body feels better with the full body workouts, and my weights are continuing to increase. I am starting my perfect week and tracking my food again. I'm low on calories today, but I would rather come in a little low than high.

Thats exactly the same kind of dog we will probably get next...we have a cariin terrior and she's extremly boring! She is old but she basically looks like one of those stuffed dogs that lay on a bed. The kids want action. They don't shed right?

Your going to have to keep us up to date with lots of pictures of your Woody! I'm sure he'll grow fast! Ok...having a dog's name "woody" could get fun?

1. How's your Woody?
2. Can I touch your Woody?
3. Wow, your Woody has really grown...

Hows the hip?

You're Woody is impressive, Kevin, but I can hear Beth in a couple months saying, "Kevin, you really need to take your Woody to the groomer. He smells and needs a trim"

Do long rides mess with your back?

Wheatens have hair instead of fur, so they shed about as much as people do. You have to keep them groomed or they mat. They are hypo allergenic though.

No worries, I'll be posting lots of photos. Assuming I can get him to sit still long enough. My hip is going much better, thanks for asking.

LOL. "Kevin, your Woody's stuck in the fence again!"

Actually, long rides seem to stretch everything out and make it feel better. I also try to stretch and use my roller after a ride which helps a lot.

Workout
None - off day.

Diet :
(P/C/F 150/192/70 2259 Kcal)

Life:
Today was all about the business. I interviewed for a potential consulting gig, which I am not sure if I want or not, and met with the CIO of a local company who is going to potentially use our product and help introduce us to other companies in the area. This would be a huge boon. The CIO is Irish, and we had dinner at a local Irish Gastropub with lots of great food and perhaps a few glasses of good Irish beer...and perhaps a shot of whiskey in my coffee. So my diet was a little off but not too bad.

Here's some more pictures of Woody in all his adorableness.

He's decided that the coolest place to lie down is on the hearth. That'll last another coupla weeks until he's too big.

Life:
These full body workouts seem to be just what my body needs. I feel like I'm getting a good workout, I look forward to going to the gym, and my weights are all moving up. I've been reading Waterbury's "Huge in a Hurry," and Waterbury feels that this is a good training protocol for most people. It gives each muscle group three workouts per week but gives ample time for recovery. I'm going to try this for a couple of months and see how my body responds.

I've also been following a modification of the calf routine found here (thanks to Reno_1ted) and I realize how much I've been neglecting my calves. Whereas I used to work them at the end of a leg workout once per week, I'm now working them hard 3 times a week and they're finally starting to respond.

Kev, your new puppy is awesome!

Glad to hear things are going well. I also really enjoy the full body routine days that I have in my program right now. I currently am getting back into the program I was doing before of alternating heavy days & full body days.

Life:
I just picked up the book "Huge in a Hurry" by Waterbury and I'm using the workouts. I am continuing Mastover's diet but now that I am mostly recovered from injuries I am working on lifting heavy. I also talked Justin into reading this book and lifting in a gym. He is extremely self conscious and has only worked out at his house for 5 years, so he doesn't do squats or deadlifts. After working out with me on Sunday, he joined a gym and is finally lifting in a way that I think will give him great results.

Speaking of deadlifts, I managed to lift 360, albeit on a deadlift machine. It supports my wrist better but it's a pretty hard workout. It's basically a rack that pivots on one end and you add weight to it. I also finally got past 200 on bench and I'm pushing towards 225 again.

Woody was sick a couple of times this week and acting lethargic. Beth took the photo below of Woody shredding one of the flowers from my garden. Turns out poppies are poisonous to dogs. There are no poppies in my garden now.
