Default What's your heart beat when relaxed ?

This morning I'm 42 per minute.
But I'm feeling good, does it sounds low ??

Lower is usually better. If lower is because you work out a lot and are in good cardio shape, then it's part of the health benefits of working out.

If you don't work out but get a low heart rate because of disease, then it's not good. These diseases are not very common.

EDIT: And since you asked, my resting heart rate is in the low to middle 50's.

My understanding is that "true" resting heart rate is before you get out of bed. Before I get up I average 46bpm, but when I'm cutting and doing lots of cardio, it drops to high 30's. Being out and about and with substantial amounts of caffiene in my system, I'm at 60 bpm. Cardiovascular fitness tends to be "easy come, easy go".

A lower pulse means your heart is moving more blood per contraction. Average is 60-90 bpm. Below 60 is considered fit. I believe the lowest recorded was 32 from a pro cyclist, so I imagine that fellow was in the mid to high 20's before getting out of bed

44 last time I measured it.

Fit people tend to have low resting heart rates. This is generally viewed as a good thing.

When I was fat and out of shape, it was 55 for me.

Mine is normally in the 40's. I bet when I sleep it is in the 30's.

Is it normal for your pulse to be 30-40 beats higher 5-6 hours after HIIT?

Mine was at 76 right now.....usually I'm in the low 50s.

I would think that's fine since you're still recovering.

I'm 56 bpm! Late at night so definitely not at my lowest, but I'm surprised it's that low. Compared to all you guys it's nothing, but I remember at school my bpm ranged from 70-80. My only decent cardio has been basketball once a week - 50 minutes of awesome intensity. And a half-marathon I did 3 weeks ago, after which I was injured and didn't do anything for two weeks! So yay.

63! Compared to everyone else, I look like I'm going to die of a heart attack at 40

Right now I'm in a cutting phase and my resting heart rate is 46 BPM in relaxed state. Likewise, my blood pressure when my heart rate is this low is generally around 95/50. That said I'm doing cardio twice per day on top of lifting and eating healthy so I guess it is to be expected!
