Is eating microwaved food regularly bad?
I eat microwaved chicken at least once everyday, and recently my mum say her friend told her eating microwaved food frequently is not good. So I check it out on the web and found this website. It says microwave is not good. So any of you got any comments or knowlegde to share?

i know microwaving vegies is bad, i got no problems with microwaving oats, but i always like to cook stuff out of the microwave, rather than using one, simply on a taste basis

Microwaving things in plastic is bad. Espesialy with procesed foods due to the high level of fats and the plastic heating up can release hormonedisrupters. So try not to microwave things in plastic.

I thought that it was actually BETTER to microwave veggies. Something about not losing nutrients as opposed to boiling. :d_confuse

I much prefer steamed vegetables, they don't get soggy, and you don't leach all of the good stuff out of them into the water. My only exception is if I'm making gravy, and then I use that water, so you don't lose any nutrients.
Andrew.

Im pretty sure microwaving will destroy nutrition present in food. I think they are banned in some countries......Ill check it out.
Edit:\\ If it means anything to anyone, I have discontinued microwave use. Too much risk/controversy to take a chance. And its not that important to me anyway.....just heat stuff on the stove.

That article, and the entire site in general, reeks of pseudoscience. The lack of any verifiable sources, the underlying conspiracy theory motif, the reliance on logical fallacies and anecdotal evidence to prop up exceptional claims, etc., etc. all make me highly skeptical.
I often wonder about the safety of microwaved food, but I'm no more knowledgeable after reading that article. I'd suggest taking it with a grain, or better yet, a sack of salt.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. In college I lived almost exclusively off of microwave food, and I was quite healthy.
I agree. . . sounds like pseudoscience.

Whoa, from that site my favorite argument against the microwave was that we all know how mothers have good instincts and his mother told him not to use it.
When he talks about the waves tearing molecules apart does he realize the the molecules in question are water? Consisting only of oxygen and hydrogen.
Anyway if you want some better explanation of how they work, check this out (or do a google)

I'd like to see some sound proven scientific evidence that Microwaving veggies is bad. I've been microwaving my veggies for about a year now - I was led to believe that microwaving them actually preserves more nutrients!!!!

That's because all of the beer killed any bad things you might have gotten from the food you ate.
At least that's what my hypothesis was when I lived off of a steady diet of beer and Jack in the Box.
