Counted calories burned from exercise today
Counted calories burned from exercise today for the first time, because I decided to give Dietpower a shot. I knew I was keeping a 1600 calorie diet already thanks to my spreadsheet, but according to DietPower, I'm running off 1200 calories per day. Yikes!
It is broken up into a 50 minute run which I do to burn fat, and the 20 minutes or so both ways I run to get to and from work.
Physically, I feel fine. I've been doing this for two months, and losing two lbs a week on average. If anyone would like to give me a good reason as to why this is excessive and unhealthy, I would appreciate hearing it. Other than negative effects that I don't seem to be able to feel right now, I plan on keeping it up.

If you feel fine and if your bf% measurements are moving down, then keep it up. I don't see any reason to change your exercise schedule.
I started using Diet Power 11 days ago and found that my 1800 cal/day diet was too low. I'm doing between 300 and 600 cal/day of exercise. According to Diet Power, including the exercise, I'm supposed to be eating between 2700 to 3000 cal/day. I'm eating a very clean diet and find it nearly impossible to stuff down that much food!
I'm forcing myself to do it and the very surprising result is that I've started dropping weight so fast that it scares me a little. I've gone from 195 lbs to 190 lbs in the 11 days that I've been using DP. That compares to a weight loss of about 0.5 lb/week that I was losing before DP. My body fat has dropped 0.5% over that time.
I don't think 11 days is enough time to really come to any valid conclusions. Surely a big part of this loss is water weight. I bought DP and plan to use it for a couple of months to see what happens.

Whether or not you have to eat to compensate the exercise by eating once you've hit your BMR is a subject of some discussion in the past on this board. If you, calorie for calorie, replenish any deficit exercise causes by eating, you should have effectively nullified the effects of your workout for the day.
My attitude thus far has been to get in the ballpark of my BMR. Any real calorie deficit that I "keep" is produced from cardio exercise.

Yes, I know all about the controversy. Diet Power figures how much you should eat and then subtracts enough calories for you to reach your goal weight on the date you specify. The deficit is already built in. If you exercise, you are creating a larger deficit and can eat more because of the exercise.
Trust the software and eat what it says you can eat. It works.
