Get Well Turtle!
John,
It's must be very difficult for you at the moment, that feeling of a beloved dog missing from your home is a difficult one. My positive thoughts are with you, Lisa and most of all Turtle.
Get Well soon!

Hey Turtle we have something in common! I had the same surgery a few years ago. Though I'm sure it's painful now, but I'm sure it's a relief compared to the pain before. Best wishes to you !!!

Thank you all SO MUCH!
I think your positive energy is working! I just back from visiting Turtle and she's doing so much better than they expected. The doctors are amazed! In fact, she staged a break-out this morning. They expected her to have trouble standing up and walking, but when they opened her cage this morning she bolted past everyone, ran out the open door and down a long hall frantically looking for a way out, presumably so she could get started on the 25 mile journey back home.
That's my Turtle! She never does anything half-assed.
She was so happy to see us. She ate treats and wagged her tail non-stop. She cried because she wanted to go home. After about an hour they came to take her back to her cage and she ran away and even tried to climb up on the benches, which further amazed everyone. She's a tough old girl.
The best news is that because she's doing so well she may even get to come home tomorrow! I've got my fingers crossed.
She was a sad sight to behold: her eyes were clouded with pain meds, part of her back is shaved (picture #2), which is where they injected the dye into her spinal column before the CT. She had a catheter in her front leg, and the other front leg was also partially shaved. She has a huge shaved area under her neck along with a six-inch wound (picture #1) from the operation (they went from underneath).
Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures (cell phone camera).

Glad to hear she's doing well. I remember when my dog was hit by a car it was very upsetting, so I know what you're going through. Yay Turtle!

My pooch is only 6 months old, has had no surgery, and probably hasn't done as much as Turtle today so kudos to her. Best of luck to y'all.
