Default Chest Pains?

Is it fairly normal to have chest pains once in a while?. I've been meaning to ask this question for quite a while, basicaly the most common chest pain i get is when i feel it almost pump with no blood, it happens say once every two weeks. Is it normal and all or should i got and see my Dr.

Wow, if it feels it pumps with no blood then you should go see a doctor. You never know what could be wrong. And you definitely don't want to wait too long, or whatever might be wrong could get worse. Good luck.

If you get pain in your chest that regularly then go see a doctor, you dont want to take chances when it comes to heart problems....

Just get it checked out ASAP, better safe than sorry.

I have been getting pains in my chest since I was ten or so. Its a sharp pain just below my left pec. It hurts so much at times i have to completely stop whatever I am doing, stay completely still and wait for it to pass. If I move I gets a lot worse. I told my doctor about it three years ago. He told me that if it has been happening since I was a kid and it hasnt killed me yet its probably nothing. He told me there are no organs there that could be damaged that would hurt like that. Its most likely a nerve that is pinched. That doctor retired recently so next check up I will ask my new doctor for a second opinion.

You only get pain if there is something wrong. It's a defence mechanism. Pains in your chest are usually nothing to worry about, but, the time you ignore the wrong chest pain could be the last thing you do. There's a member on this board who had a heart attack aged 19.

Yes 19, not a typo.

Go see someone, it will reassure you, and rule out anything sinister.

Andrew.

Yep, it was spasm.

It is sometimes called Prinzmetal's angina.

However, the starved heart muscle doesn't care why there's no oxygen or nutrients, it dies just the same.
