Beyond ridiculous, let me summarize the entire article:

I hate protein powders.

Some of it doesn't sound ridiculous to me. First, it seems to be written for the general population. With that in mind, the article makes some valid points. For one, protein powder alone will not make you grow muscle. A sound diet and weight training program will. Extra protein will be converted to fat just like anything other calorie if you don't use it you won't lose it. The stuff about the "contamination" is laughable. Unless you buy your protein powder at a gas station in Mexico or some place

Hahah, sounds like someone had a quota to meet for producing an article and just pulled something out of his (__!__).

My favourite part is that this is produced by the Canadian military.

Werd, we're badass.

Some of these "extras" include things such as anabolic steroids, ephedrine, lead, broken glass and animal feces.

School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, Loughborough University

"Contaminants that have been identified include a variety of anabolic androgenic steroids (including testosterone and nandrolone as well as the pro-hormones of these compounds), ephedrine and caffeine. This contamination may in most cases be the result of poor manufacturing practice, but there is some evidence of deliberate adulteration of products. "

food for thought. quite a high ranking uni too.

It's a pretty conservative assessment. Remember, we're "sold" a lot of gimmicks by people who have something to gain, ie, our money. It's useful sometimes to hear from someone who is outside of a commercial interest.

This article reminded me that I need to buy oat meal, im not getting nearly enough carbs in the morning (after working out)
But besides that, oat meal is good anyways..
I'm off to go drink a protein shake
