Default Obscura's Goals v 1.0

Ask me how much I weigh now and I can't honestly tell you because I'm big enough to be able to step on a scale and break it. Obscura, destroyer of scales.

That is right! Most scales are rated for 300Lbs and I'm over.

A few weeks back I went to the doctor and they weighed me on their professional scale and I was 321.

A short term goal is to eleminate all junk food, sodas, candy, etc and eat smart. I've accomplished this.

Another short term goal is to get below 300 pounds so I can buy a scale and start keeping track of my most basic measurement... my weight.

Long term goal is to be able to shop for pants at the mall again. Despite the fact that the mall is my least favorite place in the whole world... my banishment from the mall has been difficult.

I work in an office building with folks who look and dress nice and I want to wear nice looking clothes. They don't sell the good stuff at the fat guy store... It is second rate and it looks it.

It is going to feel good when I lose enough to be able to go to the mall and buy some real clothes again.

Simple goals... but they mean a lot to me.

Those simple goals to me are the most important. It's hard to focus just on long term goals, so having the other goals is a great idea.

The things I concentrate on are the things that have already happened to me with my routine.

1) No more indegestion, heartburn (no sodas)
2) Improved muscle tone
3) Not as much dickido. (when your belly sticks out further than your dicky do!)
4) My allergies are all but gone. I never have to take my allergy medicine anymore
5) some weight loss
6) muscle gain has been tremendous (up from 165lbs to 205 on bench-one and half months time)

The only thing that bothers me is my diet. I ain't perfect, but I'm trying. I really commend you on starting your routine. Cutting out all those bad things will improve how you feel exponetially I bet.

Good luck with it .

Dude, that seems really reasonable. I like the way you set up short term goals, not just focusing on your ultimate goal.

If you feel you can change, you can! Just set your mind to it, and don't get the idea that you can change over night. If you keep a healthy weightloss, you'll lose maybe 2-3 lbs a week, and that's good.

If you want a real booster, I advice you to take out the measuring tape. I measured my waist day 1 of my transformation, but when I was going to do it again day 7, I couldn't find it, thinking "hey, it doesn't matter, I haven't lost much anyway". But a week later, when I did find it, I was curious. I had lost 2 inches of my waist, in 2 weeks! Even though most people rely on the scale, what is it we are really trying to lose? Weight or size? I bet you can lose both though.

I think you could be able to find a scale that goes beyond 300 lbs. The scale I have goes to 330, and I don't think it's that special actually.

I wish you the best of luck. In a month or so, I want to see progress pictures.

I think you could lose 21 lbs very quickly so no need to buy a new scale to go over 300. Stick to it and in 4-6 weeks you'll be below 300 !
Maybe sooner than that even !

Best of luck to you.

Recent Pix from Spring Break:

Note how big and fat my head is? WTF!?

Also note that it is snowing and I've got no jacket. No need with all that blubber.

Those sound like good goals and I'm sure you'll have no problem reaching them. Just stick with it and you'll get there.

I did a similar thing. I have a long term goal but also set short term goals so I have something to look forward to more immediately.

Good luck!

Well sir, you are on your way then! Keep that up.
I think small (i.e, short-term) goals are great - just imagine yourself getting up in the morning and weighing yourself on a store bought scale!
Judging by your picture, you look like you have a really good frame under there. You'll be one of those "OMG Look what he did!" submissions in the photo gallery.

My only suggestion is to make a plan- you know where you want to go- now how do you get there? It's up to you, of course- do you want to try cold turkey, or do you want to ease yourself onto a better diet and exercise? Only you can tell what will work for you.

This is awesome: "3) Not as much dickido. (when your belly sticks out further than your dicky do!)"

LOL.

Anyway to the origianl topic - your goals are great man and I bet when you lose that weight you won't be as mall adverse.

Definitely concentrate on the subtle changes as you work towards your big goal. It will keep you motivated. You can't wait until you reach your target weight to feel sucessful. Writing down small steps and reaching them is the right way to go.

I'm 6 foot tall. and my friends and co-workers have also made the same comment. I guess I should be thankful that I hide my fat well. You don't want to see me without a shirt. I'm disgusting.

Last visit to the doctor's office I adjusted the big slider to 300Lbs and then the nurse slaped my hand and moved it back to 275. Then tap tap tap... moving the smaller slider all the way to the end before realizing that it wasn't going to balance. Big one went back to 300, she found my weight and she started lecturing me that I had gained.

This morning my company sent out a global email to every employee with news of the new "Wellness Initative". Everyone knows that Wellness Initative is code for lose weight fatties or you'll be considered for the next round of layoffs.

I'm certain that the corporate lawyers have gone over all the wording to protect the corporation from lawsuits... Think about it... fat-asses will end up costing the shareholders bigtime when they develop tons of health problems.

I decided to downsize my waistline to avoid being downsized. :-)
