Im not sure if this is the right forum, but whats the best way to increase overall flexibility and agility? Is jumping rope a goood method for this? I really need a method that doesnt require alot of coordination.

Thanks

AJ

For flexibility try and stretch at least 15-30mins everyday. I know it sounds like a lot and time consuming but I do mine in the evenings in front of the TV or something.

For the Agility you could try Plyometrics depending on how fit you are, it can be really stressful on your body. You may also want to do sprint training/interval training. Also set up courses where you have to dodge around cones and this is very specific to agility.

Do you want these fitness components for a certain sport?

Generally speaking I associate Agility with Athleticism so I think that finding agility workouts for sports (football comes to mind) may be a great way for you to build functional agility, balance, and quickness. Drills using a ladder (a grid laid out on the ground) are very popular these days. Plyo's are more for building speed and quickness, you should only bother with these if you are in pretty good shape to begin with. Jumping rope is a good start, but I think you'll need to broaden your horizons for the desired gains. Stretching long and slow is the only good way to increase flexibility, definitely the key ingredient.
