I do not use either but I was VERY VERY close to getting the Crossbow Platinum. It just seems awesome. I love the idea of the money back guarantee as well....try it and if you don't think it's right for ou, simply send it back. The digital resistance and the personal trainer options blew me away. The price tag wasn't too bad as well...if you finance it. It is $49 a month.

I've used a Bowflex (XLT with lat pulldown and leg attachments) for about 5 years and I love it. It works well for me and what my goals are, its very easy to use, takes up little space, and I've never been injured working out with it. (as I have many times with free weights in the 10 yrs or so previous to owning a bow). I also do not have anywhere to put freeweights anymore and there is no room in the garage.. so that factored in to my purchase.
That said, its not for everybody.. new, they can be a bit costly(more than some free weight setups),... and if you really wanna get big... you gotta use iron. Fortunately, that is not one of my goals..

Haven't used one in years, but from what I hear they aren't very useful for gaining any size.

Thanks for the responses. I ahve been using my crossbow now for two months and do enjoy it, I have seen improvements, I think the big key is 4 second counts for reps, really get a good burn this way, I started cardio in my program last week and that has helped as well. May add some dumbbells in the future, I am limited to space, so a true home gym with racks, etc is tough right now. GOod luck to all out there. Stay motivated.

I have the bowflex, and like it a lot. It was real costly, but I believe worth it. You can't get very big on it, but you can get lose fat, and get cut on it pretty nicely. I've added free weights to my set for something different.

I use standard crossbow after years of freeweights. I like it. These days who wants to be BIG? Use the BowFlex manual or Darden's book for routines.

Just read this on another site...
Freeweights? BAH! At least the Bowflex would still work in space!
