Best of luck Seltzer!!! I'll be thinking of you this weekend. I'm thinking mile #13 is ours!!! It will remind you of the awesome gathering we had in Columbus with all our JSF friends. Have a great weekend and like always take lots of pictures!

Thanks Kree. Mile 13 it is!

Saturday's weather in DC is supposed have a high of about 41 with a 90-95% chance of rain so it won't be great weather to walk around and take pictures of the city.

I think four days of working on .ppts has permanently addled my brain. I am going to add some fourth macro just to be sure.

Methinks you're not the only one with an addled brain around here. Just so you're not alone, I'll have some fourth macro tonight also.

Update

I've started to pack the essentials for the MCM and will deal with the non running stuff after dinner. Unlike flying to Columbus, I'm not constrained by airline flight rules and will be bringing a wide assortment of running gear so that I can deal with any weather condition and changes that will happen while I'm on the run.

Wifey is eating dinner at home and then going to see a local band with some gf's while I (gladly) stay home with dear son and watch the seventh game of the World Series. If it's a close game I may not get to bed as early as I'd like to two days before a big run, but I know tomorrow night is going to be an early one so I'll have some catch up then. If I do stay up until the end of the game and don't win the race on Sunday I'll point to my decision tonight as the reason why.

I did some rolling at home this afternoon and my hip is feeling okayish, meaning it's not any better and not any worse. My DIY roller is in the the "to be packed" pile so I'll be able to use it tomorrow in DC. I don't think the discomfort is going to elevate and become an issue on Sunday, but I'm starting to waste too much mental capital thinking about it. No comment on the other aches as I know that I'll deal with them on race day and they won't have an impact. I hope.

As always, I want to send a huge amount of gratitude to all who have encouraged, supported, and advised me while I prepared for this race. Seriously, thank you and I know that I'll be thinking of each of you while I'm on my run.

Time to get my arse in the kitchen.

Have a great time this weekend! You know we're with you in spirit. That mile, when the White House is on your left and the sun is rising over the Washington Monument on your right, is mine. And I hope the beer guy is there again for mile 23. Go get it!

Quite the weather pattern that will be hitting the area in the next couple of days and it surely adds an additional layer to the challenge ahead. Looking forward to breaking bread with you on Sunday.

Thanks E. I'm sure that on more than one occasion during my run I'll be thinking about our joint experience last year. Only this time I'll be talking to myself.

Thanks Paddy; I truly appreciate it.

Update

Packing is done. A fourth macro liquid is about to be consumed, not because I want it, but because I don't want Choppie having one alone. Sacrifices, sacrifices.

Paul finished in 5:22:01 with an 11:39 pace. Distance 26.2 miles. Congrats Paul.

I don't know how they figure these things but the race site now has the finish at 5:07:02 with an 11.07 pace.

Paulie is the man. A Renaissance man, a role model, an excellent friend, and a better man.. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Another new time. Net Finish: 4:57:39
Pace: 10:46
I don't know why or how it's changing. It's the site Chopaholic posted in this thread up a bit higher.

Had a great time meeting Paul and dear wife yesterday. We went out for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe in DC. Was only the three of us and I didn't take any pictures. I sort of regret that we took no pictures but it was only the three of us. Dear son was left at the hotel because he wasn't feeling up to going out. Paul had an awesome Marine Corp Marathon shirt. After sitting and chatting way after finishing dinner we had to part. Paul had to get up early the next day to meet Dear daughter who was coming home from college the next day. Also he had just run 26.2 miles! We said we would do this again next time. Heh we talked about all of you on JSF and it was amazing sharing all the stories. I am a homebody and it takes a lot to get me out but you all should try to get to meet other JSFers. I can't wait for next time.
