Jumping is an explosive movement and must be practiced. Strengthening your legs specifically your calves in the weight room will help, but you'll need to go beyond that and train using one or more of the following:

Olympic lifting like Power Cleans, Snatches, and Clean and Jerks, Plyometric shoes, i.e. Jumpsoles, Balance Boards, and there are tons of other functional tools which will help.

The key to jumping is in the speed of movement versus the strenth of the muscles which do the work. Strength helps, but not the slow-twitch kind.

lose weight, do jumping/regular squats, play with a weighted belt (or whatever those are called) and then your legs will get used to having 20+ lbs and when you drop those in a day you can jump higher.
