Interesting. Never done 5/3/1. I've probably been doing my upper/lower/full thing for way too long, but it fits with my variable training schedule so well I'm too lazy to change
You can post or PM me the details. I've never really looked at a 5/3/1 program.

I missed your last journal entry. I hope you don't stay gone for good, as you bring a lot to the forum. But good luck if you do.
George can correct me if I'm wrong and he drops in here, but I think he's avoiding some back work for awhile due to a strain.

Yeah, weird injury. I can still squat and deadlift heavy so who cares, right?

Went for a blood draw to see how my medication switch was working for my testosterone levels. Due to all the sticks I've had lately, apparently the right arm vein they chose had a bit of scar tissue in it, and she had trouble actually getting the blood once she got in. She took two tubes, but for the third one she wasn't getting anything even after wiggling it around searching for the vein, so I told her to try the other arm. Between sticks I started feeling weird. I remember watching the second needle go in, then everybody was fanning me. I was still sitting up straight, but totally tunnel visioned. Vagal reaction. I had a really bad cold sweat. I had this before my first colonoscopy during my cancer diagnosis, but have been stuck probably 50 times since with no problems.
Once I finally got back to "normal" after a bit of juice, they took me from the lab area back to the doctor's office where they laid me on the table to watch me. The Dr was insisting I needed to go to the ER at first because they were afraid I'd had a stroke because apparently I'd twitched a bit when I went under. I convinced them I was OK as I got some color back.
Drove home. Workout probably not going to happen today, or it will be later than expected
I think I made the nurses' day a bit more exciting than they expected. Endocrinologists probably don't get a lot of patients passing out.

Hopefully just a reaction to low carbs, but your decision to hold of working out is probably wise.

Maybe, but I think it was more of the digging around in my arm for a minute or two looking for blood. I've been stuck a lot on low carb with no problem.
Who knows. I suspect I'm just one of those people susceptible in certain instances. I generally don't have problems with needles, am not squeamish, like to actually watch them stick me every time, etc. Something just kicked off a reaction.

I can't look at the needle. If I do, that's exactly what happens to me; I freak out. There can be no silence either. I need to talk to them while they get the blood.

Billy, no overly hot nurses there
Kilter, the thing is, needles don't bother me. I gave myself shots on weekends during chemo even.
