Shirmp Ideas
Anyone know how I can heat up some already cooked shrimp from the grocery store. (I am pretty sure that they are cooked already, they are pink). I have a really hard time with cold/frozen shrimp. All I need is an idea on how to cook them up and get them hot that gives a little extra flavor and is healthy. Not a real big shrimp person (except for deep fried shrimp back in the unhealthy days), but I am trying to get into them since the are damn good for you. Thanks!!!!

From a former seafood cook:
Take a handful of thawed shrimp and throw them in a preheated skillet with a tablespoon or two of xtra virgin olive oil. Season to your liking (my faves: Emeril's Essence, No-Salt Cavender's Greek Seasoning, Penzey's Cajun Seasoning, or just a pinch of kosher salt and a few good cranks of pepper) and saute until the shrimp just turn pink.
A great addition to a side of steamed veggies!
Bon appetit!

I buy precooked shrimp as well. I take mine and put it in a steamer for about 5 mins to warm it up. Then douse in Old Bay Seasoning.

like tommyspoon suggested, throw them in a preheated skillet with a tablespoon or two of xtra virgin olive oil.
Then add some fresh, finely chopped chili, some finely chopped garlic and serve with salad (iceberg, with oliveoils/balsamic vineager dressing) and pineapple salsa.
It's an excellent starter or snack

Take a tip
Uncooked shrimp are really easy to work with, especially is you get them semi-prepared - and by that I mean deveined. I usually by them in 2 lb bags, frozen and split - then divide those into 1 lb lots into ziplog bags, and keep them in the freezer. To use them, just thaw them in a bowl in the sink.
To cook them, peel the shells of (easy if they are split!), and toss them in a hot pan for 2 to 3 minutes.
On a high heat: I like to put a little olive oil in a wok, then some spices (like a little ginger, and a little onion, maybe some garlic). Let that sizzle for minute. Pitch in a pound of thaw shrimp and whisk them around for about 3 minutes. That's all it takes.
You can boil them, fry them, roast them, drop them into soup. If you buy them pre-cooked, you risk over cooking them....

Excellent!
I just tried the suggestions here, and this is so easy to prepare and so tasty! I used olive oil, Emeril's Essence, and some lemon pepper.
I don't know my way around a kitchen, but this tasted like I was at a fine restaurant.
