Thumbs up What I ate today - little help please :)

Hey all

I've got the summer to knock my body into shape after a year of abuse at uni.

I think I've got the exercise side of things pretty nailed but when it comes to diet I'm just hopeless.

I'll run you through what I ate today and any comments would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I'm aiming to steadily lose body fat over the next 3 months whilst trying not to lose too much muscle.

Here goes:

8am - 2 Weetabix
Semi-skimmed milk
1 Apple

9:45 - 6km rum (I know that's not food but thought it might be appropriate to add)

11am - 1 tin of baked beans
2 slices wholemeal bread

1pm - 2 slices wholemeal bread with sunflower spread

4:30 - Ham sandwich - 2 slices wholemeal bread
Sunflower spread
Very lean and small slices of ham

20:30 - Turkey Escalope
5 Potato Croquets
Quarter tin of baked beans

22:00 - 6 Strawberries (damn they were nice)

I think that's about it. There was probably a couple more bits of fruit chucked in. In addition a take a multi-vit, cod liver supp and drank about 6 pints of water today.

I work 2pm-8pm, so 4:30 is the only chance I get to eat during that time.

Um.......anything else? I weigh around 79kilos and think I'm probably about 5'8? That's a guess tho.

Like I said, any advice would be great.

Many thanks in advance

Sorry man, I'm probably not too much help. As a typical American I am mostly ignorant of items from other countries so I don't know what most of those foods are - Weetabix, Escalope? But it does look like you are eating an awful lot of carbos compared to your protein intake. I assume you are trying to lose some fat? I'd try to only eat 2 slices of wholemeal bread rather then the 6 you listed. Other than that it looks decent, not a lot of variety but I tend to eat the same thing everyday myself.

read gravityhomer's guide to fat loss for a very thorough primer for dieting and fat loss, compare it to your current diet, then develop a nutritious and healthy new diet for yourself
