Short answer, you can't. They either go away or they don't.

The disappearance of stretchmarks is almost entirely based on heredity. No over-the-counter product will actually help them, only time and lucky genes. Things like Vitamin E may make your skin softer, but it can't reach the middle layers of skin (dermis) where stretchmarks actually occur. Some specialists claim that Retin-A can treat them to a degree, but opinions vary widely on that.

Your best bet is just to be patient and hope they fade over time. Also, get some sun and see if tanning helps make them less visible. If you're extremely bothered by them, see a dermatologist.

Default Possible fix

There's a new product out there called Strivectin. GNC sells it, so does macy's I think. Its a topical cream that you rub on and makes them all go away.

Enough sarcasm. I actually have heard good stuff about strivectin first hand, from a few different people. Here's the catch, a bottle of this stuff will run you about 135 dollars for a 6 month supply. You also HAVE to apply if 3+ times a day to get full effect. PLUS, the first bottle may not be enough, so assuming its working, you might have to shell out money for another one or two bottles.

Pretty much, best case scenario. After about a year of rubbing cream onto your skin 3 times a day, spending several hundred dollars on creams, etc etc you have no stretch marks.

Worst case scenario, all of the above, only you still got em

All in all, depends on how much fixing them means to you.

I've got horrible ones on my lower belly from where I gained weight over a short period of time. Now that I've lost, my belly not only has stretch marks but also has loose skin... sucks eh?

It really doesnt bother me that much. Get a good tan and its not that bad. Hopefully the elasticity of the skin will get better over the next year as my body adjusts to my lowering weight.
