Well, got my JSF fitted shirt today, and it fits great...no prblems here. Just to let you know the sleeves are a bit tight (thast fitted), but I like the buff look . One thing though is that the shirts really see-through, and since i have dark skin you can kinda see my nipples ...but I dont care I am so rocking my new shirt tommorrow at the gym...I'll have a pic coming soon (if i can "censor" the nips )

Have any shorter guys, like 5'5"-5'8" ordered any t-shirts? If so, what size and how does it fit?

I can't decide if I need a small or medium. Some taller guys seem to be getting mediums, so it worries me because I hate long shirts, but my chest is bigger than the larger range for the small.

Anyone have pics of a medium on them regadless of your height? May help me judge how it'd fit.

I got my "flex" baseball jersey size medium on Friday. It fit really nice over a short sleeve t-shirt, exactly as I expected a medium to fit. I am 5'10", and felt the length was normal, not sure if that helps you Karatetricker. I don't have a pic to post yet. EDIT: my chest measures 38" unflexed for those wanting info on what size shirt to get.

The sleeves come down to about mid forearm. I am looking forward to working out in it tomorrow, as I always have to roll up the sleeves of my usual workout shirt. The fabric is slightly thinner than a t-shirt you would get at the Gap but it did not feel cheap. (EDIT: Now that I've worn the shirt a few times it feels completely normal. I think it felt different because it was new. now it feels just like any other shirt I own.

Overall

Edit: Still no pic, but I measured the length from collar to the bottom of the shirt in the front and it is 26 inches. I wore it to work out today. Felt great to move around in!

I just received the Jr. fitted spaghetti strap tank with the JSF circle logo (size Medium) yesterday.

The printing was great--they trimmed the transfer close to the design instead of leaving it square or rectangular and the design was very clear. The fit is close and the length is great, a few inches past waist length so it doesn't look like a belly shirt even on my long torso.

Size stats on the tank are
Medium
Bust 30"
Waist 28"
Length 22 3/4"
Dress Size 4-6

Medium seems to fit me perfectly at 33.5" bust and 26" waist. If your chest is a bit larger than that, I'd recommend sizing up simply because the logo will eventually stretch across the bust, and after a few washes (or too much horizontal stress, LOL) might crack.

Man, i knew America was big, but the Medium Tshirt is the biggest medium i ever saw !!!

A warning for all UK buyers, the medium is much bigger IMO then a normal medium tshirt. Dunno if its a US thing or just cafe press

I England a small is SMALL, for people with no shoulders or chest. A medium is not that much different in length but is bigger up top.

This medium fitted well round the shoulders, but was looooong, and the sleeves came down to just above elbows.

Im 5'8'' BTW, but have pretty large shoulders for my height.

That aside, the tshirt is awsome. Great quality and i can see it lasting plenty of washs (which as a gym shirt you need). Shipping took just over a week to the UK, which was good, and arrived well packaged.

The design (I got the GET STONED one) is spot on and looks great.

Apart from the size (which isnt anyones fault, i should have guessed when i saw taller folks getting mediums), i would give it 10000%.

Im proud to show my support for JSF and will wear my tshirt to the gym with pride !

I was going to post about this earlier today myself. My shirts just went through their first laundering - and they shrunk up quite a bit.

I bought an XL - and it was obviously too big for me - but after I washed it - the upper body is still too big for me - but the shirt got considerably shorter!

I was in the gym this morning doing lat pulldowns and everytime I would go all the way up I could feel my midsection getting exposed - just a slight bit - but I normally like my shirts a little longer for that kind of reason.

(I'm 6' 2" though )

Still a cool shirt that garners plenty of stares and I actually saw someone writing down the URL this morning!! Very cool.

Here you can see pictures of my totally cool Medium White fitted John Stone Fitness T-shirt and awesome John Stone hat.

The shirt, as everyone so far seems to have mentioned, is a pretty long, pretty big medium. It'll probably shrink a little. But I think it looks alright.

Note anything funny about the hat?

Cafepress says they're sending me a replacement, free of charge, free shipping, that should be here by UPS by tomorrow, and I don't even have to return my uber-rare first edition errata John Stone fitness hat. If it comes in as promised, that's really solid customer service right there.

It's a nice hat - velcro and everything. And pretty much nobody would notice that the logo's upside down, right?

Following Johns update today...

Buying gear from the forum shop is a great way of supporting this site and keeping it open and free so that people like me and you can make positive changes to ourselves. Of course there is the option to donate money to the site and become an official supporter. However, many feel that that is "money for nothing" (not me, but anyway). Buying a shirt or a bumper sticker not only means that you are helping support this website, but for your "donation", you get a great product at the end of it.

I think because of the way John is (in a good way), he is reluctant to "sell" these products to you and make a point of the fact that this website cannot remain free forever (even if that means it closing), lest he be accused of a being a sponsor whore / money grabber / sell out etc etc etc etc. Let me, as someone with no financial interest in the site, tell you that it is vital for the survival of this site that you support it by giving money where you can, be it the straight forward donation, supporting the sponsors or buying a t-shirt. If you come to this website, and learn from it and use it to help you change your physique then take a moment to consider doing something good, giving something back and buy a shirt. A couple of quid (bucks) for a lifetimes change isnt a lot.

Its to easy when something is free to abuse it. If you dont HAVE to pay, why should you. Well, because if you dont, others will not have the chance to find this place and make the same change that you did. Indeed, if others before you had not donated etc then the site may not have been there when you decided to change your life and found this place on google. Just because it was there when you needed it, doesnt mean it always will be. And, to me, thats just selfish. Its a "Im alright jack" attitude and it sucks. Sorry if saying that is against the rules, but i have to make the point. Im not saying you have to buy something, but it should be a strong consideration.

There were many many people who expressed interest in the shop and its products. If anyone who said they were going to buy some gear, hasnt, then that is totally out of order. Please buy a shirt and keep the shop (and this site) open.

I read todays update and felt a bit saddened by it.

I agree that people should buy the merchandise to help support the site.

I need to do that myself. I think the reason I haven't yet (and maybe others too, maybe it's just me) is because I really want to look the part, before wearing the clothes.

If John is really concerned about making $$$ from this site, without looking like a "sponsor whore" here's what I think he needs to do:

I read in a thread (can't remember which one), that all of the sponsors on the site pay a flat monthly fee for advertising.

If that's still true, unless that is a very HIGH monthly fee, John could probably make a lot more money by working as an affiliate for these companies. I'm sure, unless profit margins are paper thin, which I doubt they are, that 50-60% net profit of each sale (very common in the affiliate industry as I run a few sites that generate a good income each month, it's my full time job) would bring in more income than the monthly fee, especially when you take into consideration that most people order the protein powder, etc...on a monthly/consistent basis.

I also bought stuff to support the site as its been here for me when I really needed it and it has helped turn my life around. I picked up a pin and magnet as I couldn't find any clothing I really liked. Perhaps later on I'll pick up one of those fitted golf shirts. Anyone have a picture of the actual golf/polo shirt?

Thanks for the support folks.

A couple random musings....

First of all, I'm not concerned with being labeled a "sponsor whore" or anything like that. I'm 100% comfortable with how I run my sites, and I have absolutely nothing to apologize for. I'm doing what I have to do to keep the site running. JSF has actually started to turn a profit lately. Yes - JSF LLC made some money over and above the expenses of the site. It's a darn good thing it did, because I've been bleeding all my personal savings away for a long, long time. Thank goodness I have an understanding, supportive wife or this site would have been gone a long time ago!

The model I use for my existing sponsors (except for Jeremy) is a flat rate, and I don't want to change that on them. I will be looking at other alternatives on a case-by-case basis for any new sponsors. For example, Fitcore will be done on a per-sale basis. So's Jeremy.

Yeah, I'm surprised that the Gear isn't really selling because so many people were asking about it. A lot of people who have been there/done that told me that I was wasting my time. Maybe they were right, but I had to try! No big deal - maybe sales will pick up and maybe they won't. I can deal with it either way.

While I fully understand that not everyone has the means (or, perhaps, the desire) to help support this site financially, I think those members who do support the site (and, of course, the sponsors) deserve our thanks and our respect. Without those people this site would not exist, plain and simple.

Have all the people who purchased something during the "Beta" phase of the opening of the JSF shop benn taken into account? I remember many people who were sharing thier experiences with ordering, myself included. I agree that a free site should still get support from its members, but maybe its just a slow progress now...hopefully it will pick up.

I echo Reno's words. I was really saddened by this morning's update. I remember the threads with post after post of people saying all the things they would buy and likewise the post and after post of all the people who would donate. I'm really glad to be apart of this site and to be able to support it.

John, I have a feeling that many of the people in those previous threads have fallen off the fitness wagon and just don't come around anymore. Maybe you should send an email to all the members letting them know the big news of the JSF Gear shop being open for business. It may inspire those that have drifted away to come back. I'm going to go search for those threads and revive them.

Anyway the JSF baseball jersey is still holding up strong. I really like working out in it.

EDIT: John, the real major thread that was launched on merhcandise was back in March of 2004. It had 89 replies, but it is closed. Any chance you can reopen that so I can reply to it?

If I ever need a US publicity agent, I'm calling you.

I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I think people are aware of the gear now. Beating them over the head is just going to turn people off.

I won't send a mass email because I promised I'd never use members' email addresses for marketing purposes. I'm a man of my word.

Thanks again for the support.

Just doing what I can. Hope you don't mind me cluttering the off-topic forum. I did it because I knew you wouldn't want too. Having been around all this time, it is just really annoying to see all those people requesting stuff and then bam, nothin'.

Just like with fitness, you can't convince people to do anything, they have to figure it out for themselves.

I got my Golf/Polo Shirt yesterday and I must say I'm quite pleased. I'm gonna wear it to the gym today and wait for someone to ask me what "johnstonefitness" is.

The only criticism, like Reno said, is that its a rather large medium, it fits my chest ok, but its a little long on the the waist and sleeves. I usually buy medium Polos from 'Polo Ralph Lauren' and they always fit perfectly. It must just be some difference in international sizes.

Here's how a medium Jr. Spaghetti Tank JSF shirt looks after one wash. The printing is holding up well after going through a warm wash cycle and permanent press drying cycle.

I did the patented superhero pose for this one, LOL. (Hey, why not? My arms keep getting bigger and bigger on SGX. )
