Hey all. 10 days ago (Jan 13) I discovered John's weekly photos thanks to Fark and immediately started exercising daily and cleaning up my diet. Then on the 19th, after 6 days of eating well and exercising regularly, something weird happened. I started feeling nauseous, had horrible stabbing pains in my stomach (bad enough to double me over and bring tears to my eyes), along with other even less appealing gastrointestinal disturbances!! For three days I had these problems and absolutely zero appetite- I just started feeling hungry again last night and worked out again this morning.
Until about 5 years ago I'd been lucky to be able to eat pretty much what I want and stay relatively slim, so I've always been very undisciplined in what I eat- I have the world's largest sweet tooth and I absolutely adore pasta and dairy. Not a big fan of meat and I have very little regard for fruits or vegetables. Once I got married, got a more sedentary lifestyle, and got a little older my body didn't handle it like it used to. Now at 30 I finally realized it's time to retrain myself.
Did my new diet and exercise plan cause a negative psychological response? Was my change in diet too drastic for my body to handle? Or did I just eat something that didn't agree with me? This is unlikely since all the food I've bought since starting this new lifestyle has been fresh. Since I don't know the answer I'm a little hesitant to jump back into things with both feet for fear of it happening again!
Anybody else have anything like this happen to them?
