Default My progress Apr 04 - Present

Well, April 2004 I was approximately 215lb and out of shape:

I wish I had a better "before" picture but this picture I took of my paintball welts is the only one I have of my body from that time.

Currently I am at 170lb:

My workout started with just running and eating better, I've been doing a lot of pushups and stuff though the past 4-5 months so thats helped my muscles some.

I feel so much more healthy, John's guide to weight loss helped me a lot with knowledge and I've been using it in my workouts and nutrition.

I think I'm at around 12% bf but I'd really like to know what you all think.

HOLY COW! THat's one awesome transformation man. It's so inspiring to see someone do something like that. And you look really muscular for just doing pushups! I'm not even gonna try with bf% (although 11-13% looks about right to me :-)), but I just wanted to say great job!

Well the past 2 months or so I've been lifting weights as well. It's amazing what pushups and situps can do though.

I took my BF% off of here because I don't think it's accurate (17% on tanita scale, 11-12% on calipers, 9% on HealthCentral, wtf??? haha). From now on I'm going to go by the mirror.

Looks like another John Stone folks! That is a hell of a change in less than a year! Wow! It is hard to believe that is the same person from the two picts! Are you saying that you really havent done any weight training besides pushups? You already have a decent amount of mass, and definition coming in! I am completely impressed! Talk about change.. you have to feel great! Congrats on your wonderful accomplishment!

Wow !! That's some great progress !

Nice job sticking with it for 8 months.

I'd agree with your bf estimate.

Your chest really popped.

Again, great job!

I almost fell off my seat when I scrolled down from the "paintball picture". Amazing job, that's a huge change! Congratulations!

Well my diet isnt too strict I just made some changes and started eating a lot cleaner and lesser portions of what I used to eat.

I stopped drinking pop and started eating a lot more whole grain breads and cereals and stopped munching on potato chips etc.

The thing that helped me the most was the running. I started off running 1.5 miles and went up to 6-7 a day off and on, usually about 4-5 times a week.

The past month I've had a YMCA membership so I've been going there about 6 days a week and working on the elliptical and doing weight training.

I'm kinda addicted to exercise, its pretty awesome. I just love working out most of the days and of course I'm loving the changes my body is going through. It's been a pretty neat thing socially as well, as I've gotten a lot more attention from the lady folk. I was chubby my entire life and its nice to finally be able to experience more of that side of things y'know?

I still have a lot to learn about fitness and nutrition, but I'm motivated to keep pressing on and improving my lifestyle, nutrition, health and workouts.

Thanks for the support!

Hehe, I read that you stopped drinking "pop" and I thought "he must be from Ohio." Sure enough, I look up and I was right. (My mom and her side of the family is from Ohio). Regional accents and vocabulary differences sure are interesting. Sorry for being off topic ;-) - Jeremy

You look so much healthier now in your face alone. (a bit of color helps too!) Congrats again. You've done more than well!
