Default Question

Ok,

I've been doing a workout program now for about 4 months since I quit lifting that involves massive amounts of calestenichs and alot of running/swimming/biking, so far it's working as good for me a weight training due to the large amounts of squats and pullups I do. Additionaly, I am loosing weight gradually I'm down about 20 pounds from where I was 4 months ago. However, I was wondering if it would be over doing it to throw in a 45-60 min cardio session a day? The way my body feels now I think it would be fine for me to do this after my morning workout. However, I know how subtle overtraining can be so I just wanted to get you alls opinion.

My current workouts are like such.

100 pullups
200 pushups
500 situps

Run
1- 7 min mile
Sprint 1/4 mile jog 1/4 x2
Sprint 1/8 mile Jog 1/8 x4

Or

Run 3 miles
10 sets
swim 100 m
20 pushups 20 situps
Run 3 miles

Or

Bike from levels 2-20-2 at 2 level increments for 1 min each 2 levels
then do
4 sets
100 situps
100 flutterkicks
50 squats

Ok thats not all that I do but thats a pretty good Idea of it. So what do yall think?

What are your goals? Are you trying to lose fat, improve general fitness.....?

!!!100 pull-ups, damn!!! This seems amazing to me, especially if you think you have very much fat to lose (I assume this is why you want to do the extra cardio). How many per set, and how long do you break between sets? I would be very interested....please PM me with details if you get a minute.

There are far more knowledgeable folks than me around here, but at first glance I would say the cardio wouldn't be a problem as long as it wasn't right after any heavy anaerobic work. You aren't doing weights, so this may not be a problem. Still, I have a hunch that later in the day would be better--especially if you have just cranked out 100 pull-ups! Let's see what some of the others have to say.

Yea, I don't see sighns on anerobic work in there, so essentially you are just adding another cardio session. Probably no big deal, especially if you have a solid foundation, which it sounds like you do. For most of us pull ups would be anerobic, but if you can crank out 100 at a time!!

I'd worry about loosing lean mass, but apart from that, not much to add.

Lol no I don't crank out 100 pullups at a time just 100 in a workout usually it takes me anywheres from 6-8 sets with 30 secs rest between sets to get 100 pullups in.
