I'm curious as to what stage the people reading this site are currently at in there fitness program. Please choose an option from the poll.

EDIT:
Sorry just got the poll up. If what you are doing is not listed for some reason just click other and post a response saying what you are doing. I did not choose the option to show everyone's response, because I thought some wouldn't want to. But please post a response if you want, that way the poll stays near the top of the thread list.

I'm not seeing the poll for some reason, but my goal is bulking. As an ectomorph, I'm one of those thin people who can eat pretty much anything without putting on much visible fat, so now I'm trying to put some meat on these bones! I've been working out and eating pretty well since I found John's site in September, and progress has been slow but steady.

Wow, I just realized tomorrow will be exactly one month since I first found John's site and leapt into eating right and exercising. I definitely still have a bunch of bugs to work out (can't seem to get enough calories yet), but I think this is the longest I've ever stuck with an "I'm going to eat better and get into shape this time!!" plan. Thanks John!!

I think I've lost 11 lbs in the past month. Does that sound excessive? I'm not exactly sure what my weight was when I started but I think it was about 11 lbs more than now. Wow.

I know, in 5 days it will be my one month anniversary. I can't believe I've gone this long, without bad food. No takeout, not one cheesesteak, hamburger, pulled pork sandwich, french fries, soda and such. It seems like the time has flown by. I never would have made it without this site. I actually really like the food I eat now. This is insane. I never would have imagined.

Good Job Andi I don't think 11 pounds is too much, sounds perfect to me. Right on the 2-3 pound a week guideline I see everywhere. Have you checked how much of that is fat? I'm down 13 pounds right now, but my fat loss program is running at 60% of what it should be. So only 60% of those 13 pounds is fat. I'm trying to adjust with more food intake and weight training to stop the loss in lean mass.

That's another thing. I never would have thought a month ago that the biggest problem I would have is eating enough!

Good rule of thumb is if U loose more than 2lbs per week it is muscle..
But during first month ur loss is good... But from next couple dont
expect to loose more than 7-8lbs per month.... (Not Healthy over longterm)

I started dieting about 2 months ago, but the first month I did atkins which kicked my ass... I lost a few pounds but felt terrible... Then I found John's site and started exercising and eating correctly...

Tomorrow will be exactly a month since the day I started a well balanced diet and exercise and I've dropped from 209Lbs - 195Lbs...

Glad to see so many people making a change for the better. Keep up the good work guys and gals!!!

First of all, that poll has WAY too many options.

Right now I'm just over 2 weeks away from completing my scheduled cutting regimen, although I may go another month. This is because of some recent events (a death in the family) which has led to a few days of cheating and inability to get a full day's workout in, as well as an injury which I suffered yesterday. I also recent changed over to HIIT cardio exclusively, and while I get the impression it may take a bit longer to be as effective as 45 minutes of mid-range cardio, I LOVE HIIT (particularly by comparison). I'm more than willing to stick with my program for another 2 weeks to a month and get even more cut up than I originally intended.

I was attempting to capture how many builking vs fat loss people we have here as well as get an idea of how long people have been at it. Yeah seems like a lot, but you can have up to 20 options so I figured why not use them.

I think the results are pretty interesting but pretty predictable. Most of us are doing fat loss and have just started out at about the same time the forum started or just before. Although I see there is a good number of people trying to hold there body weight steady. Not sure what to do with this information though.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I hope that your family is doing well.

I started in October. I was using not very good scales, I bought new scales lately and instead of being 223 I'm 238! So that's added more fuel to the fire and got me working even harder.
With my wrist injury gone I can lift again.

the poll is fine. i like it - its comprehensive. I started about 7 months ago and I have made some nice progress. Worst part is injury. I hurt my left shoulder in late November and it took about 7 weeks before I felt comfortable again. Its still not 100% but I decided to push through it. Its not painful and it has continued to improve but its still not like it was pre-injury. Another few weeks and it should be fine (I hope).
