Default New, but not new

I joined a while back, read a few posts then strolled of like a kid in a pet store.

What happened was I found a groove and stuck with it. I was 250 Lbs 2 years ago, ended up in the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. So long story short I wise'd up

I am now down to 165Lbs, eat clean and in fact a group of us who share weight loss are on a 30 day no refined sugar challenge.

I guess I came back is A) The posts were friendly B) now what? I have been reading and scouring for some starting point. I know what I want just not which fork to take?

I want to get more upper body strength but do not want to body build. I admire the work you, who do put in. I am not sure if I just posted a oxymoron there.

In a nut I was hoping you could point me in the right direction. Unfortunately I cannot afford a trainer and the guys at the gym, well they intimidate the heck out of me. At least here I can hide behind a bit of anonymity.

Thank you for your time.
