Update and question
So, I've gotten a membership at Planet Fitness, the so called "Judgement Free Zone" because all the other gyms I visited, the denizens did not look very friendly. LOL. They have free personal trainers, but that's only as far as it goes to get a routine setup. I go for my first session this week.
Anyway, I did get from bb.com that 90% of weight loss is diet. As it says in my profile, I'm a pretty big guy. My appetite gets me into trouble a lot and worry that it may cause me problems with the weight loss. I'm a little in financial straits right now, so I can't get too many different supplements, but am willing to invest in a couple.
I've looked around for like dietary suggestions. I'm tempted to go to a nutritionist to get advice for what to eat. What would you guys suggest?
Another issue I face is that I'm minimally medicated for my bipolar disorder which wrecks my motivation to actually get to the gym. It's been a factor before and I didn't take the appropriate effort to see what I can/should do about that as well. Any thoughts?
I appreciate everyone's warm response to my other post and feel reasonably better about posting this post here versus on bb.com.
Hope to get some good advice / info.
RD

No worries. The closest thing to a supplement you might need is oatmeal.

Everything you need to know about nutrition is in the sticky at the top of this forum

Watch your calories, watch you macros, move heavy things, keep motivated and you'll be golden.
The only supplements I use are a multivitamin and fish oil.
Welcome and good luck,
Bob

Don't listen to this guy... oatmeal is not a supplement. It is food.
The only supplement you really need is water.
...and more water.
