The exercises in that video seems like typical training that even football players do. When I was training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu we used a few of those techniques such as burbies etc.. We would even shuffle quick with our feet and drop down to a pushup.. This would be great im my opinion if you don't have the option for weights and proper training equipment. I think these combined with some cardio would result in nice results.. You have pushups for your chest, crunches for abs, prison squats for your legs, the bands for your back.. Doing pushups also works out your triceps also I believe so I believe all of those combined would work all of your major muscle groups in my opinion..

Doesn't look bad, but you could be a bit more organized than that for sure I think.

I saw a special somewhere, just a small one, about the exercises and routines done to prepare the actors for the 300 movie. If I'm remembering right, that was nothing like the routine.

Wish I still had the link.

Apparently, it wasn't what they did to get the look. Just a challenge for the actors to do if they wanted to before they filmed.

To the poster, if you're asking if you do x exercise under that spartan training will your body look like y? The thing you need to realize is while these exercises will work you good, sadly you cannot isolate where your fat is burned.. You may work your abs like crazy bu until you've shed your weight basically all you're doing is make that muscle stronger which if you did cut would only help it appear that much better. I know myself I need to lose weight but until i get the frame of a more slinder person all of the toning is garbage because you only strengthen that muscule and until you start SERIOUSLY cutting calories you will the "uncover" that muscle. You cannot tell your body WHERE to lose fat from but once you lost most of it you can try to build up the muscle hidden behind the fat. Good luck

I remember all the hype when 300 came out about the "300 workout", etc, and I know there are a lot of "variations on a theme" out there. If you want a little more info about the real 300 movie workout check out Gym Jones (the actual article about the movie training can be found here: http://www.gymjones.com/knowledge.php?id=35). That article also touches on the "300" workout, which was more of a crucible for people who wanted to try it. They also have a lot of interesting information on the site, a lot of it dealing with the psychology and motivation behind what they do.

Here's a video that was also going around when 300 came out and it shows you how dedicated a lot of the actors were to the movie, as well as how intense Gym Jones is: http://www.videosift.com/video/Frank...Training-Video

P.S. Not sure if that was the link you were talking about Gance.

search youtube for 300 workout, or gym jones etc and you should find links.

the crossfit guys do a lot of similar work in terms of big compound movements + cardio in a semi competitive structure.
