Default Wound healing and workout

I had a minor surgery done yesterday and I'm not sure how long to wait before going back to my weight training routine. Does working out help or hinder recovery? I guess common sense would be to wait a couple of days and maybe try with moderate effort...? But it's also easy to reason that workout will speed recovery by creating anabolic and thus cell renewing state. What do you say?

I would ask your doctor.

Yeah I probably will ask, just somehow forgot it then. But I know the answer in advance: avoid training until the stiches are removed. The thing being that unfortunately many doctors are just clueless about questions related to weight training.

Well, better safe than sorry.

The answer was as I anticipated. Well the wound has now healed and I'm back on track so to speak. But the actual question remains. Does weight training heal or hinder? I have to keep reading and asking around.
