couple questions.. I have a pretty good size paved driveway. Does this thing chew up the ground?

How loud is it? I'd like to use it at home, but if its noisy like mad, my neighbours won't be thrilled ;-)

Thanks,

Pete

1) Your driveway will take a beating and rust
2) It's very loud

I have done 2 more prowler workouts, both with just 50lbs total and just like I described above.
Currently, I'm doing 4-5 days of HIIT or elliptical and 1 day/week of legs (20rep squats, RDL's, walking lunges). This amount of work on my legs plus the prowler has really kicked my butt.

Prowler is loud but i'm only doing 30-40secs x 12 and so far no one's complained. The parking lot does not have much mark to it after 3 total workouts in the same area.

The actual # of calories burned is not that much but there's some kind of fat-burning, post-workout metabolic type thing happening because i'm looking more leaned (even though i've upped my calories). Plus, my HIIT (which I do 45 sec intervals of incline on 12 and speed on 10mph) has become much easier.

Grass is actually probably the toughest surface to push it on. That being said, if the ground isn't flat, it will dig in easily. Even if is flat, it would still probably dig in, but I can't clarify that. Your basic dragging sled would be a better option for grass and it would be really quiet.

okay, I thought this was like those sleds people hit in football. I guess the skis on the bottom aren't rounded up enough?

this looks like a really cool exercise. Few times in my life I have had to do this movement. Once when trying to push my car from a dead stop off of grass, and another when I was pushing this giant pad across the floor both times, I was quite exhausted and my legs were seriously pumped.

ever hear of some treadmill version of this thing?
