Got a new camera so was trying it out with a few progress shots. Weight is down to 175# at the moment, but that changes quickly.

Leandom, if you get a chance, try yoga. it will surprise you.

Let me say again for age 54 you look smoking! Your wife is lucky to be able to touch such a muscular man!

I loved yoga....until I got a ton of plantars warts from the mats

Great pics looking very lean and strong. I have not tried the yoga yet but I am getting myself involved in a karate class. It is one of those things that I have been interested in since a kid. I went to my first last night and I thought I was kinda fit but for the first half hour all they concentrate on is fitness and cardio and it almost killed me.

Thanks, leandom.

The karate sounds like fun but a great workout too. Hope it helps you reach your goals.

Yes this is what I have discovered as of late is I put in 100% more effort in if I am having fun but in saying that I would really like to improve my flexibility and get a cardio work out at the same time so do you think that I would be able to achieve this through a Yoga class.

Flexibility yes, but not cardio. It doesn't get your heart rate up really high. But it definitely makes you more limber which can help you in all aspects of fitness, not to mention other areas too.

Just finishing up a great week with a visit from my 15-year-old niece and her friend from Michigan. On the night that my wife had a meeting and I had to entertain them myself, I took them to the gym (their first time) and we did a group class together. They really enjoyed it and it sounded like they were going to try to keep some kind of fitness program going, which is pretty good for teenagers that young.

It's been over a year since I posted to my journal. I'm starting a bulk this winter. Actually, it's already begun as I am up 5#. I'll try to keep this updated.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Here are some more shots from this morning.

George, I can't believe that in that pic I almost look like I have a chest. I had just finished my chest workout but I don't think it gets pumped like my arms do on arm day. My chest and legs are still my most lagging parts. Biceps, traps and especially delts have done very well.

I've been pretty lean for over a year now, and something just snapped in me and said "Dude, you need to put on some size. Heck with the six pack and tiny waist. Go for the beef." Since then, eating more has been easier and I like seeing the scale go up. I've started doing heavy squats and deadlifts again, so that should help as well.

Thanks, Dm. I wish mine looked like that all the time instead of just when I flex them. Walking around abs is the ultimate achievement physique-wise.

Sounds like you're doing pretty well yourself. Keep up the good work and make it a lifestyle and you'll be rewarded with fewer aches, pains, doctor visits, prescriptions, etc. etc. etc.

Thanks, Rogo. I was really pleased to see the scale say 178# this week. That means I'm now up 13# since summer. My arms measured 15# cold pumped which is a new high for me. Chest was also up 1/2". So far, the extra weight and bulk feels GREAT. I now weigh what I did when I started out 4 years ago and was fat and out of shape. But I'm afraid the next 5-10 pounds will have me feeling a little fat.

A guy who I often see at the gym who is the same size as me asked me if I was trying to get up to 200#. I would love to have that happen but I don't think my metabolism will allow it.
