I should totally try doing DB lateral raises in drop set fashion with my shirt off. I might get my next year of gym membership for free .

I suppose I could have worded that part of my update a little better.

We get our share of frosty weather. Tomorrow morning it's going to dip below freezing here. It was in the upper 30s when I woke up this morning, and is currently 52 degrees (F). While these temperatures are mild compared to many parts of the world right now, it's not exactly shirtless beach weather, either.

It was -2 here this morning. Shenanigans.

John any chance at all, you give us a quick snapshot video of your training, perhaps a few sets of Bench or Deads or something?
Would be really good for the members here and also normal beginners and what not just browsing youtube. Promotion in a sense for you and the site at large!

'Grats on getting into your final week. Must be just a little bit bittersweet to see it end, though. Also, wouldn't DREAM of lecturing you about anything!
Speaking of injuries have you (or anyone else for that matter) ever gotten shin splints after doing Deadlifts? I've been increasing weights every week, but I decided not to do legs this past Sunday and instead did shoulders and tris and cardio.
I found that as my legs got warmer the splints got worse but I'm curious if you feel that your shoulder gets worse or better as it gets used.
I love doing deads, though. Considering it's usually one's strongest lift, it feels great bringing all that weight up from off the ground!

Maybe one day. It's not on my immediate "to do" list, however.

Never in my life have I had a problem with shin splints. Some scraping and bruising is about the extent of the damage my shins take when deadlifting.

My shoulder definitely feels better as the workout wears on. Part of the reason for this is because I'm warmed up, and part of it is the endorphins (which mask the pain).

John, looks like you made the absolute right choice extending your bulk like you did. You're tiring out at exactly the right time and not leaving anything on the table...like you would have done if you ended it when previously scheduled.
Nicely done!

Hey John,
I haven't been around in a long time. I saw your pics and the relaxed delt pic is simply amazing. It is very respectable what you have achieved with your shoulders and traps. Great job. I have been working out very few and far between. Still have 17.5 arms. Just need to get a swift kick in the ass. Again, great job brother. Keep it up.

It was definitely the right choice. I'm running on fumes right now, but I'm going to make it.

Thanks very much, tank, and welcome back.
Take it one day at time and don't make excuses. You'll get that consistency back.

With my bulk ending this week, I decided to take a fun bicep picture, and then compare today's photo to a bicep shot from a couple months ago.
First, here's the new photo:
Here's the comparison. I've added 1 inch to my arm over the past two months (which is shown in this comparison), and a total of two inches since I started my bulk:

Can you even touch the top of your right shoulder with your right hand Looks like the bicep and forearm would get in the way!
Nice work on an extra inch in those 2 months!

I just did it now with no problem, but while I was doing it my forearm cramped up from the hammer curls I did earlier today.

I almost forgot about that terrible back/bicep picture that I took at the start of my bulk. I'm glad that I took that photograph, though, because with it I was able to throw together a new comparison that shows my complete arm progress over the past 17 weeks:

If I were EVER fortunate enough to have arms like that, I would then (and ONLY then) consider buying a tank top, or a couple muscle shirts, instead of walking around in three 3XX T-shirts all the time. LOL

That's a much better comparison photo John! It looks like 2 different people in the first and the 3rd photos. Quite astonishing really.
