Man you are massive Mr Stone!!!!- inspiration to do more legs - do you think squatting and its variations are enough for good `leg` development or do we need machines ???- I have only a squat rack.

John, I see in your update that you do dumbbell pullovers as one of your back exercises. I was always under the impression that this exercise focuses on the chest. Am I missing something?

I've always heard them called "lat pullovers" mostly rather than dumbell pullovers.
If you think about the movement you can see how the lats are involved in the pulling over motion.

I think we've all looked at old pictures and felt some embarrassment from time to time. The problem with my transformation pictures is that they are not in a shoebox in my bedroom closet; they are all forever preserved on the Internet. And I'm in my underwear.

Thanks. Watching movies is pretty much my favorite thing to do aside from training, so the theater was a good investment.

You don't need machines. You can destroy your legs using nothing more than a barbell and/or dumbbells: Back squats, front squats, barbell lunges, dumbbell lunges, Bulgarian split squats, sissy squats, stiff-leg deadlifts and on and on...

DB pullovers are a chest and an upper back exercise. Personally I find pullovers don't do much for my chest, but they hit the upper back and lats hard. In fact, I think DB pullovers are one of the best lat exercises around.
John, your bulk is going great and the difference between previous ones is huge. Along with a lot more leaness than after those your leg growth this time around is the first thing I noticed.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2009 to you, Lisa, and the dogs.

Can you believe that someone emailed me today and said that my avatar is photoshopped? No, I don't think it was Steelo: the spelling was too good and there was a distinct lack of "lmfao"s and "lol"s.
Anyway, I decided to shoot some video this afternoon of my delts and traps. I started to just post the raw video, but I was playing around with the footage and decided to combine the it with some old and new pictures of me as sort of a new JSF promo video that will hopefully inspire people to get in shape for 2009. I'm uploading it to youtube now. I'll post the video here shortly. I hope it doesn't suck as bad as my "photoshop this" video.
EDIT: Grrrrrr! Youtube rejected it because they auto-recognized the small potion of the song I used for the backing music and kicked it back as a copyright violation. I spent a lot of time editing it to work with that music, too.

Having been around here and seeing this happen in the past, of course I can believe it. And yes I know you were being facetious.

Back to the drawing board...
Looking forward to seeing it after it's posted.

It disturbs me that people have been misled and miseducated for so long that they've been brainwashed to truly believe bodies like this aren't possible naturally; without drugs, photoshop, or whatever else.

the music is what actually makes the video kind of cheesy...the pics and video are bad ass. You remind me of Hugh Jackman in the upcoming Wolverine movie (especially with the beard).

Just you wait: I think the "speed skate" pose is going to be a compulsory at future BB competitions.
I started off making the video with the purpose of duplicating (on video) the pose I used for my avatar to prove it wasn't photoshopped. Then while I was editing the footage I decided to make the little "back from the dead" video. Yeah, as you saw, it didn't come out too great. This morning I deleted the video, and re-edited it. This new version is probably still cheesy, but hopefully not quite as bad as the old one. I added some stuff and took some stuff out. It's uploading to youtube now. I'll post it shortly...
