Default Weight lifting problem.

Greetings everyone.

I have a simple problem. I want to cut (i am at about 220lb, 15% bf, want 180-190 8% bf. 6'6'), I can make myself a diet (I went from 290 to 200), training program and alike.

Or more specifically - I can make a program for anyone except me. My oftalmologist has forbidden me from doing any serious weight lifting (unless of course I want to go blind). This leaves me only with cardio and... well and cardio.

So my question - how to approach the problem here?

After some life turmoil I'll restart my cycling programme, so cardio is not a problem per se since I'll be doing lots of it anyways, but should I rely solely on this?

I'm kind of lost here.

Why is weight lifting going to make you go blind?

Could be due to a diabetic condition? Heavy weight lifting can cause pressure on the eyes, and create a problem if there is a preexisting condition.

Find out what kind of resistance training you can pursue. Can you do higher rep, lower weight programs? Bodyweight lifting, such as pullups and pushups? I would take your doctor's opinion very seriously, however I would also find a second opinion and see what options you might have depending on your condition.

I have very severe short sightness (I have sight range of about 1 foot without glasses/contacts) in this case high physical excertion might cause retina to detach itsself from the back of an eye.

It can be glued back, but there might be anything from slight problem to loss of eyesight.

Lasik will correct my sight, but will not cure the retinal condition.

Basically - anything above 20-30 lb is too much.
