It would be cool if (mastovers permission permitting) you could go into that a bit, as im always intrgued by the changes and would love to know "why" it is felt beneficial to drop chicken and beef at this stage of the cut, as oppose to not at all or just eating cod from the start etc etc.
I am especially interested in the thoughts behind dropping creatine "except for leg day".
This cut has me really intrigued, so many changes and tactics.
I know your busy at the moment, so im not asking for a PHD paper.
Hope all is going well.

I know you called John out, but please allow me to respond
What we're doing here is simply switching around protein sources, introducing different amino acid profiles, while manipulating fat sources as well. Strictly working with John's bodytype. Additionally, fowl has tendencies to make the body hold on to water. Especially turkey. The creatine will be gradually reduced until a "load" is implemented during the final stages of his cut. Right now John is holding a sufficient amount of muscle. It's a simple process of running with the purest protein sources while shedding the last vestiges of bodyfat. The red meat has done its job as far as muscle retention is involved. It's time to drop BF percentages further without the sacrifice of lean tissue. So far John's strength has been very impressive throughout this entire process
The changes are for the sake of preventing adaptation and heading off any potential plateau's. Trying to stay one step ahead at all times.

Mastover has done/is doing a terrific job.
If I bulk again in the fall it will be a slow, very lean bulk.

Well done John, you've truly taken your physique to a new level! As always, you continue to be an inspiration for myself (and many others on this board!)
Though it may be painful, any chance of you taking a photo of the "problem area" so we can all see the last part of the cut in detail? It would be great to see a problem area before / after shot, to truly hammer home the change seen when you reach your 6% goal.

As per the others, looking really good in the monthly pic. But, however, now it's time for a "normal" pic, like the April 3rd one. Those normal pics are very different than the monthly pics; they seem to show the body much better. The monthly pics look kind of flat and two dimensional (but as mentioned, they are good for showing certain kinds of progress when done consistently). But in the pictures like the one from April 3rd, you looked angled, chiseled, like something that was sculpted. That's the next picture that I'm looking forward to seeing the most. You look REAL in those kinds of pictures.

I like the new camera! I messed around with it tonight and took a couple of new pictures, as requested. I'm still playing around with it, but these shots came out pretty good.
Back double-bicep:
Another arm shot. Better vascularity this time. I was not flexing my abs in this shot (they were relaxed), so I don't think they look quite as tight as they did in the similar picture from April 3rd (I was flexing them hard in that picture). My arm is looking better and more vascular now, I think.

I was having the same thoughts about the "natural" poses before I got to the thread. Apparently, some other great minds had the same thought. The picture of your back looks really awesome. I don't know if you have ever addressed this, but are you ever planning on doing any competitions?
P.S. I love my Canon camera. It's an A520 4.0 mega-pixel model. Nothing fancy, but it does what I need, and the post-Thanksgiving price of $125 dollars was too good to pass up.

I've been asked that many times.
The answer is an unequivocal "no". I have absolutely no desire to participate in competitive bodybuilding.

Your lats are especially impressive now John, it looks like you have wings.
2 things popped out at me from yesterday's update:
Quote:

It's amazing how we can sometimes lose any sense of proper judgment when it comes to our own bodies.
|
Quote:
|
As I mentioned earlier this week, the fat below my belly button really stands out now that the rest of my body is so lean.
|
I really don't see any fat "standing out" on you at all. You look lean all over. I can well relate to the idea of problem areas that matter a lot to you personally, but I thought it might be worth my chipping in to say that I don't see anything out of the ordinary about your physique. I certainly wouldn't describe it as a "spare tire" or anything
I guess it is your desire to achieve perfection which has kept you driven and motivated for all this time
