Bulking jeans, John? Do you mean baggy jeans or wider waist?

Hey John nice review, very detailed...
Your progress has been amazing the last few years your total dedication to eating and training is just incredible... I don’t know if you’re on any specific bulk at the moment but it would be cool to see how you’re eating now. I used to love reading the food logs but they stopped a while ago with SGX… Can I ask will you be updating this area of the site in the near future? Anyway keep up the awesome work, and congrats on the Deadlift goal… That is a very impressive amount of weight to be lifting for that many sets/reps…

John is now on SUP2, which is the bulking program that matches the cutting program SGX.
Like SGX, he cannot be specific and detail what he eats when and in what quantities. Its part of the agreement when you sign up for the program. Hence the logs stopped.

The back shot comparison was pretty remarkable in the Titan review. I started reading here in the Spring of '05, and so I saw either photos where you were fat, skinny, or buff. I kind of had that "oh well sure, it CAN be done" attitude, but never see the changes first hand. Then I saw that and the amount of change in the short time I've been here, and then I realize how little my physique has changed comparitively, pretty amazing.
You're definitely an inspiration, John!

I'm glad you liked the review! It was difficult to fit everything I wanted to say in there. I had to do some trimming to keep it focused, but overall I'm happy with how it came out.

HI John,
I'm glad you pulled out of the last set and didn't injure yourself more.
Our egos are such a problem I know mine impredes me in my workouts.
But, hopefully you will be back to normal soon.

Good review on the TITAN. I have never been more ready to drop the dough for fitness equipment, however we live in a second story townhome that is 25 years old, I dont have the faith to believe that the thing would not drop through the floor onto all my neigbors cars in the garages underneath! One more reason to start thinking about a house! Hope your back heals up quick!
I was wondering if you have ever posted your grocery list for each month anywhere? We are re-working our grocery shopping to try to include more bulk stuff like from Costco now that we have extra freezer space, and we are trying to get an idea of what items we should purchase and how much. Thanks!

My back feels pretty good today! I think I'll go for four sets of 480 next week!

I go to Costco every 4-6 weeks and buy in bulk. I usually get stuff like this when I'm bulking:
- 6 packs of their boneless/skinless chicken breasts (12 breasts per package).
- 12 steaks. Whatever looks good at the time.
- 2 packs large frozen shrimp (peeled/deveined)
- 20-pack frozen sirloin burgers
- 2 bags frozen tuna fillets
- 2 or 3 bags Frozen cod fillets
- 2 boxes frozen crab claws
- 2 or 3 bags of raw almonds
- 3 multipacks (15 cans per pack) of "Chicken of the Sea" tuna
- 1 box Quaker oatmeal (2 very large bags per box, regular oats)
- 10 bags whole coffee beans
- 4 24-packs 24 oz bottled water
That's most of what I get at Costco.
I get my fresh food and a few other items weekly at the grocery store. Stuff like salad greens, veggies, egg whites (I sometimes get egg whites at Costco when they have them), breads, natural peanut butter, beans, pasta, more bottled water, milk, etc.

I thought I saw you leave Costco the other day... Should've tipped the cart retrievers more though...
Great list - especially for bulking!

Thanks JS, I am cutting right now, but that list provides an excellent place to start for our next trip to Costco. I will just try to customize it more to cutting emphasizing more of the "leans and greens"!
I have found shrimp to be an awesome food resource, so I like to buy it in bulk for sure!

I think I successfully fought of that bug or virus before it could really dig in and cause any real problems. I felt great all day, and tonight's workout (arms) was excellent.
I measured my arms just before my workout, and they are finally at 17.75" (cold)--a new record for me!
My arms usually pump up an extra 1.25-1.5 inches when doing bicep/tricep supersets, and tonight was no different. I finally broke 19 inches pumped, so that's kind of cool. The best part is I am 7 pounds lighter now than I was last year when I hit 19" arms at the very end of my bulk... and I still have two months left to go in this year's bulk.
Cheat meal tonight! I earned it.

Very impressive! Just goes to show you what hard work and dedication will do for you. Definitely motivates me to work harder in and out of the gym since I definitely wasn't "dealt a genetic hand". AWESOME job, John!

My girlfriend told me that my 15" arms could easily be one and a half times bigger without looking weird on my torso. It's not that my chest or back is so muscular, it's just broader by itself. Yes, John, she wouldn't mind if I had 22" arms. I showed her pictures of your arms, and asked her: don't you think he's a bit TOO muscular?
Her reply:
Errrr no, I like it! Guess I have a few years of training to do.
Keep up the good work, John!

John I think you are over reacting a bit with the lack of sleep last night..
I would rather have my friends call me at 4 am (assuming they arent drunk) if they need to talk about something then have them use their clouded judgement (usually if you have a fight with a SO you arent thinking straight) to decide what they want to do.
Now if this happens often then sure you might want to have a talk with them to let them know that they need to figure things out on their own (cuz usually if it happens often they arent taking your advice).
One night of a little less sleep isnt gonna kill you.
