That's OK. As it turns out, I didn't buy the car in Florida. I am
getting a Mini Cooper S from a guy in Arizona. Now I gotta figure
out a way to get it here. I'll post pics later. It's really cool.

Sounds like me. We go closer to the equator in July for vacation! I was in Denver in August once; it hit a low one night of 45º in the middle of summer! What the heck is that? We stayed at Tanisha's grandma's house and I got up one night at about 3am to use the facilities... they have concrete floors... I made it from the bed to the bathroom and back in about three steps that floor was so cold!

We used a show car transport company to send my best friend's Camaro to Texas for repair a couple of years ago. Shipping cost was $800 from Orlando. We figured that's about what it would have cost for us to drive the car there if we'd trailered it ourselves to Houston. I can get you the name of the transport company if you're interested.

Yes, I'd like to know the name of that company if you can dig it up. The best quote I have now is $988 and I'd like to do it for less.

Hey everyone! We are having an AWESOME vacation so far! We're less than halfway through it, and I already feel nice and rested.
I've not missed any workouts, and my meals have been very clean with only one or two exceptions. In fact, I've lost a little bit from my waistline over the past week. I'm pretty happy about that.
I got some TFO (Tritium Fiber Optic) night sights for my GLOCK, and I also got a new knife: the Spyderco "Military" with a partially serrated edge. It's a fantastic knife and very useful for all kinds of tasks.
I've been spending a lot of time at the range and goofing off around town, but next week it's off to the beach!!!
Thankfully the forums and work have both been quiet and not required much attention. Thanks to the mods, who have done a great job of holding down the fort!
I won't be around much over the next week, so please behave--the mods have been instructed to err on the side of caution, so don't expect much leniency.
Here are a few new pictures of my "toys".

Glad you are enjoying your vaca!
I like your new knife, Spyderco's have always been a favorite of mine. I have collected knives for a while myself, I think I will post some pics of my collection up on my pic gallery in the VIP section sometime soon.
I was supposed to go to the range this weekend, but with a lot of family stuff going on I think I am going to hold off until next weekend. I am planning to shoot a couple different Glock models. A guy I know is selling his Glock 17 for under $500 with a bunch of nice mods on it, but I am leaning more towards the G19. It's a bit more compact and it comes in 9mm which my wife can handle as well to start with.

It's been great! We had a blast, but I'm ready to get back to my normal schedule. I feel like I've been away for months!
Tonight Lisa and I are going out with a "bang": we're doing tequila shots and later we'll be eating pizza margarita.

I'd love to see your collection!
I'm really enjoying my Military, and have become quite adept with it using one-handed. Right now I have my eyes on a Civilian. Lisa has a Delica 4 and she loves it. Spyderco makes excellent products!

That's a great price on a great pistol. I love my G19--especially with my TruGlo TFO sights! The G17 is a little big for CC, but it has even less recoil than the G19, thanks to the longer barrel. Both are 9mm.

I've got the sharpmaker model 204 and it's awesome! I just sharpened my Military and when I glide it over my leg the hairs just pop off. It's the best sharpening system I've ever owned, and the DVD with Sal is great, too.

I'll add a J frame to my collection at some point, but lately I've had my eyes on a Kimber 1911; specifically one of the Raptor II pistols. I'm also going to be adding an AR-15 to my collection very soon...

John,
Will you be posting your monthly progress pictures for June? I know June 1 was during your vacation; will we have to wait until July 1 for new up to date pictures?

John,
Come to find out it is actually a G30 .45 acp the guy is selling. I am even more excited about that. To be honest the G17 was probably going to be a compensation buy for me as it was not what I was really wanting, but for the price I could not pass it up.
The G30 is more compact, and if I ever do move to a state where I can have a CC it will suffice well. I am hopefully going to shoot it soon and decide what I want to do. I will probably bring my wife with too and see how she handles it as I want her to be able to be familiar with it as well. I am a bit concerned that the .45 will be too much for her versus a 9mm. I think she can certainly learn to handle it though, she will just need to use it...she is definitely strong enough.

Guys, just like I did last June I skipped this month's pictures while I was on vacation--I needed a break. I'll take monthly pictures, as scheduled, July 1st.
Ryan, I don't think the Glock .45 ACP recoil is too bad, although it will be more pronounced on a compact like the G30--especially if you use +P loads for carry ammo. I'd get some +2 mag extenders for sure...

Ok, ok.... Here's a post-workout picture from tonight. I'm fairly bloated in this picture, as this is the first day after my vacation (the last week was mostly junk food and alcohol) + I drank a lot of water during my workout.

This is the best picture I have seen of you so far.
Seriously, your body looks almost perfect to me. That is quite a statement to make, given the incredibly high standard you have set over the last few years.
Congratulations, John. I cannot imagine how you can improve that body, but I am absolutely sure you will show me how in the next few months.
Once more, you are an inspiration.

Another amazing pic John. I've been following your progress for quite some time now and it looks like an incredible journey.
Your physical progress has been amazing and is beyond doubt. For me though I'm even more interested in the mental challenges you've had to overcome. Before you started I think I read you felt lazy, unmotivated and had very low self esteem. Now you seem to have achieved an incredible life balance with regards to your relationships, work, fitness, play etc.. I'm sure you don't feel it's perfect but I bet it's a hell of a lot better! I've come from a similar starting point and have made some good progress (it's even a long way for me just to give myself a compliment like that! I've always been overly critical of myself) I was wondering if you had read any books on goal setting, motivation/action, time management or along those lines that you would recommend.
Thanks for being a great inspiration John and hosting a brilliant site.
Peace.
GCF

John,
Thanks for the input on the G30, I will remember that when I go to buy it.
Your picture from tonight looks outstanding, it is a testimony to how great of shape you are in that you can go on a two week vaca, eat and drink the way you did and still look better when its all over...way to go John!

John I know what you were going through with the bloating.. Sunday was my bday so basically the whole week coming up to my bday was ppl taking me out for dinner/drinking.. by Thursday I was holding onto alot of water weight.. a couple of girls I know that had seen pictures of me now were there were trying to take off my shirt all night but with me holding so much water weight that wasnt gonna happen
The really weird thing is you would think with me having a boring diet for the most part I would have been so happy eating at nice places all week.. after about 2 days I was sick of it already though. I actually just wanted to have a salad with canned chicken breast for dinner

Awesome picture! I think maybe the only imperfection is the lack of a smile. If that's after a week of junk food, you must look insane now while on your strict diet. Great work, I'll really be looking forward to your July 1 pic.
