No, heavy bag training would tend to be anaerobic - plus it's very hard on my shoulders. I do fasted LISS cardio in the morning and lift weights in the evening. The SGX eating patterns combined with the weight training and cardio will prevent muscle loss. In fact, the last time I did SGX I added muscle while cutting fat.

The past couple of days I've been dragging a bit as I adapt to the reduced calories, but that's only temporary. I felt pretty good all day today, and my workout was AWESOME. Man, SGX has the nutrient timing down SOLID. It gives you what you need, when you need it. I just follow the plan, and by the time my workout rolls around I'm full of energy and ready to go. In fact, I'd say I felt more energetic tonight than I did the last couple weeks of my bulk!

Now that I'm on SGX, I'm moving from a 5-day split to a 4-day split. Basically I'm combining delts and arms and working them on the same day. I work delts first since they need the most attention, then I superset my biceps/triceps.

So here's the amazing thing. I'm cutting, I've lost 6.2 pounds of mostly water in just 2 days, yet my arms are bigger than ever. I actually hit 19 inches pumped! I wasn't even going to take any pictures tonight, but when I measured after my workout and saw 19 inches I almost fell over.

That's unreal!

I wasn't lying a few months ago when I said I will not be suprised if you hit a 20" pumped. I'm still standing by that.

I'm in shock right now. I hit a tad over 18.75" on my last bulking workout, and I figured that was it for this go-round.

The last time I did SGX I put 1/2 inch on my arms while losing fat, but I don't see how that's going to be possible this time since my arms are bigger than they've ever been and I've got a lot more fat to lose this time (granted not much on my arms, but still). My arms are a little over 17.5 inches unpumped right now, and if they are 17.25 when I'm done cutting I'll be very satisfied.

I would like to get them to about 19 inches cold next bulk (if possible) and then have them 18.5 - 18.75 inches after I cut. I don't want them any bigger than that (I reserve the right to change my mind). I hope Lisa doesn't read that.

You know pretty soon your arm is going to bigger in pumped circumference than some guys' thighs. That puts things into quite the perspective.

I wonder what it is, John, about SGX and the arms.

I'm just finishing my first run through SGX (starting USP2 soon) and I, too, gained more mass on my arms and shoulders than anywhere else, relatively speaking. Especially the tries.
